I want to point out that each one of these content creators with the exception of Zepla oppose the strike. Some even go as far as to try and make us feel silly and childish about it. All of them more or less believe that the strike won't work (mind you under false pretenses why we chose to do it). Yet, every single one of them end up conceding that the issues laid out in the manifesto are true and agree that there are real problems with the role and the simplicity of content.

Nobody is or has had the opportunity to ask any of them, "What would you have them do, then?" So I'll ask you. Members of the community who come to the forums that oppose this strike. What would you have us do?

We have been told to provide constructive feedback: There is already a four year old thread summarizing the issues with healers that is supported by many healer mains within these forums.
We have been told that if we are not happy then to just quit and vote with our dollars: Many of us have already quit, and several members on the discord have unsubbed and don't plan on coming back. Even if SE did make changes.
We have been told that if we want to DPS, to go and play a DPS job: We are, and now we have players who have chosen to not participate in duties as a healer in Dawntrail. A brand new expansion and the role we love because it is no longer enjoyable.
We have been told to go and suffer Ultimate if we are not satisfied. Many players in support of the strike have done just that.

It's interesting that despite our grievances, how much we care about the community and the game, how several of us defended this dev team to no end, the backlash we have received from you and some of these content creators, and even Yoshi himself being so dismissive as to tell healers to go do Ultimate if you're bored; that we are still here with our demands being boiled down to impartiality. We are even the ones trying to bring up possible alternatives to tackle these issues. Yet, those in opposition either just shut these ideas down, and/or remain completely indifferent.

Again, I ask. What would you have us do?

This might be my last post for a while. I told myself that if/when the pages and upvotes reached 300 I would sum up my overall thoughts over the course of that time. Dawntrial is right around the corner and so is the strike. We will just let the chips fail where they may. The attention this has acquired is far greater than I would have ever imagined. I know all of this has reached the dev team as it would be impossible for it not to. In that sense, this has already been successful.

Excellent post. This thread and the posts herein are a form of constructive feedback from players who have a love for the game and the role of healer. All people are asking for is a little engaging and rewarding game play, it is not a big ask. No one is asking for big shooty boom boom's or sparkly green lasers, the cacophony that resonates among that vast majority of posters is people are tired of hitting 111111, 2, 111111 [insert heal spell here].

And one of those, the 'worse case scenario' I suppose for Healers in general, is that SE just don't see those feedback as needed changes.
That just maybe FFXIV is constructed in a way that everyone should be able to play every job without the fear or worry of getting alienated if they mess something up, so they are designing them to be super-easy to use for most/all content.
Games that share the same original genre can all play differently when it comes to difficulties, playstyles and so on.
So maybe FFXIV is just one on the easier side of them all.
And perhaps that's why Yoshi said that if people want to experience more challenge they should play savage/ultimate, since they are for those who wants to get away from the (super)casual content.

I forgot to mention.
But we've already seen how the games content has more and more been adjusted for a lower skill ceiling.
We've had dungeons and quests nerfed because people have complained that they were too difficult.
We even have a couple of quests that if you fail them you can retry them in an 'Easy Mode' setting.
Which just adds to that 'worse case scenario' theory.
As for when people are actually faced with something a bit more challenging, instead of overcoming it through personal growth when it comes to gameplay, they've complained instead.

Idunno.. I didn't make them.
But as I've talked about earlier a couple of times, is that to me the Healers toolkit is designed around fights going bad.
But since the combat is so scripted and everythings more or less marked out, it leaves very little for errors to happen in a fight.
So there's little to nothing for a healer to use said toolkit on.
Regardless it's there for those cases it 'might' be needed.

Healers years ago complained that they didn't want to DPS, so (I guess) SE reduced the attacks healers had to appease the Healer population.
But without any challenging combat there's not much to use the healings that is left.

One such thing of note that when TP was removed, so too were a number of additional support options (I.E. Mana Shift for dps casters being able to refill a healer's MP or another job, and that one AST card that restored TP). Most of the meta is surrounding around crit and damage, but what else would be an option for any of the healers? Haste? Something that refills a portion of another job's job gauge?

As for WAR, outside of being the Meteor poster boy job, I think the squenix dev team have a limited scope on what they think of WAR is as being the "barbarian" or "Me hit good me shrug off ouch" and you can see the consequence of it. At least one thought with WAR that could still fit that "Me hit good me shrug big ow" idea that squenix apparently has with it, is changing one of it's sustains into a stacked buff that blocks or intercepts incoming enemy damage up to a number of times. But something or some things that would still give WAR squenix's perceived identity of being that job that's reckless and keeps going

I also think even though Squenix has been actively have a severe allergic reaction to DOTs, that healers should be given OGCD DOTS to play with while also trying to refigure out each of the healers' own identities outside of the "pure healer" "shield healer" description.

Yet again, I can't say for certain.
But my personal beliefs are that jobs lost more and more of their personalities due to how in endgame content, META always arrises and with that prefered and less prefered jobs with it.
So to remove the obstacle of jobs getting turned down for content they made them more and more the same, so regardless of content each and everyone of them would be valid.
I can't think of another good reason as to why otherwise.
Personally I'd love to see more unique personalities for each job, not just by appearance, but what skills actually do.

All of this, while I cannot even leave this hell because you cannot leave an instance while in battle state.

I know, it's not an ideal situation.
I miss the ARR days when a dungeon run required a little bit of planning before each pull.
Like how Sleep spells was still utilized and all that.
Being careful of wandering patrols as fighting 2 groups of enemies at a time could end badly real quick.

The runs was a lot slower than today sure, but because things had to be taken slowly that also meant that things could go real bad and that implies that tanks and healers still had a very vital roll to play.
