I'd rather have queues of hours for a single duty that I get to enjoy rather than spending the entirety of an expansion with a gameplay that boils down to:

-If there is damage to be healed press the generic oGCD that is flat potency and doesn't have any other interesting effect
-If there is no damage to be healed press a 2 button rotation

Healers on this game are a textbook example of how not to do game design

I agree, but there is a certain level of decision making that has to be done. Do I:

1. play a job I don't care for just so I can play the game
2. spend my precious gaming time waiting for 15 minutes of fun.

IDK about the rest of you, but 15 minutes of fun per hour is not worth it to me. My plan was to main DPS this expac for my own reasons. I will switch to a different job if it means I actually get to play the game. I just really hope it doesn't come to that.

It hurts to say but it feels like the job design team is just plain incompetent at this point. And I really wish I didn't feel that way...but how can you remove Sage's Two dots and make it so they can't overlap...Why would you ever do that? You sell it as "The DPS Healer" but then they make decisions like this. What are they doing over there, who is making these decisions.

Even some of the tanks and DPS are starting to feel the effects of their design decisions heavily. They're destroying the individuality of each of the jobs, and homogenizing them down to the point where they just don't feel good. Like, okay, sure. Warrior was always kinda unga bunga. And then we got Fell Cleave spam. Which got nerfed to a braindead 3 guaranteed Fell Cleaves, because I guess fitting 5 in a window was somehow hard? But then why did DRK get that exact same playstyle for their rotation?

Thank you for asking me to clarify instead of just assuming! So that was intended to be lightly sarcastic... There is nothing enjoyable about having to wait to play the game the way you want to play it. There is nothing enjoyable about playing a job you don't like.

If you're not enjoying the game, by all means change jobs! Just know that this void you're leaving behind is one of the most sought-after jobs in the game. Everyone needs a healer to queue. There just aren't any competent healers left in the game anymore. If you have a way to queue without reaching out to a random healer through DF then good for you, but others joining this cause might not have that support. So I mean, it's literally a "pick your poison" situation for them. Play a job you don't like or have to sit in queue with 172,634 other DPS (IDK I made up that number) who also changed jobs.

At least there's enough side content I enjoy playing that I can do during periods I'm waiting on the queues, whereas fast queues only matter if I like doing the content - and that's questionable with current healer designs. Like the old adage, 'no D&D is better than bad D&D', the same is true here.

Queue times? Man, I remember sitting in hubs asking for healers and tanks in say or global chat, because there were no queues. There were some days you didn't even get to play. This healer strike is gonna be nothing in comparison to that. We have Trusts as the worst case scenario.

I was definitely one of those who assumed the worse right off the bat, apologies for that. But then why would you add this to your first post?

Honestly yeah, I kinda want to do every quest and I reaaaally need to grind a bunch of FATEs, various crafting and other nonsense on my list. Enough to keep me occupied to 8.0 at least, and I'm hopeful we see something then if not sooner. Maybe that hope isn't realistic, but I'd rather be hopeful than not, y'know?

I've been playing a shit job and giving feedback to improve it for years, I've seen how my main get destroyed, dumbed down and become irrelevant for years, 15m of wait compared to that is nothing for me, and honestly if is such a big problem to you (which is understandable) you only have Square Enix's designers to blame.

The devs are the ones that caused this issue by letting clear problems fester for so long, they are the ones that neglected the role and allowed it to become what is today. If there is a healer shortage to the point no one can play comfortably, they are the ones at fault not us. With all due respect, I understand your worry, but I'm not gonna waste my sub and time in one of the worst designed roles of the industry just so others can enjoy theirs
