If you think healers have nothing to do. Do anything in the worst combat expansion and the hardest; Dawntrail. If you haven't done any of it as a healer. Thanks your problem thinking theres nothing to do.

What's this about goal posts moving? How is this relevant? For the first time in a long time I see wider acknowledgement in the community that healer design is actually very bad. That's good. Until now this was basically just something a few cranky healers talked about on this forum. In this thread I am seeing a lot of tone policing about how it's not a literal strike by a literal union and I wonder about that aswell how it is relevant. If your biggest concern is the word strike being used incorrectly then I wish I had your problems.
I don't see what's so difficult to understand. Healers need more engaging dps play when content doesn't require substantial healing. Its absurd to expect dungeon roulettes to be so difficult that they will require high healing up time. That said, there is no reason healers should be limited to such a mind numbingly boring dps rotation when healing requirements are low.
This isn't a complex issue, its a poor development choice that FF14 devs have doubled down on for years.

My understanding is that a movement can have multiple goals, and a movement can be considered a success even if it doesn't meet all of its goals.Dawg half the conversation in this thread at this point boil down to "I don't agree with this, here's my perspective" followed by a dog pile of "Irrelevant. Uninformed. Read the OP." It's tiring. It's not possible to have a discussion about a dissenting opinion because it rapidly degrades into goalpost moving. Call it whatever you want to.
The state of healers is what it is because it is exactly what the community asked for. Being mad about those consequences makes me roll my eyes. I look forward to being again told that that's irrelevant or off-topic.
I'm very happy with out progress. One of our grievances was not feeling heard, we now feel more heard. That's great! I would like to continue even further now.
I'm just uncertain of this "community" that everyone speaks about... People on the fourms? Apparently, no matter how big a group is on the fourm it's to small to make a difference.
It's not like the people playing the game like the role. The largest majority are playing dps.
Content creators? They seem split on the issue. Xeno has some things he agrees with, zepla mentioned that healers have a point, Cole also similar stated that he wants a bit more. It's fine to think the strike is stupid while still agreeing with our arguments.
From my perspective, it's a vocal minority that got them changed in the first place and now a vocal minority are fed up and want them to change it back.
I think if they split the healers into 2 groups, everyone could be happy, but instead they go all in on one design that happens to suck in a majority of content.
I keep reading that we healers demanded our kits simplified and this "one button spam" is actually our fault. That we asked for this.
Please someone point me to a thread or something about a loud outspoken movement to have 1 nuke and 1 DoT be our majority of casts for most of our gameplay.
Someone also point me at people asking for Kaiten to be removed, BLM non-standard removed, SMN being reduced to 2 buttons and MNK's rotation being 1,2,3 forever.

There's old old threads about are/hw cleric stance, but nothing asking for DOT removal etc.
In fact opposite is true. Even in SB AST Players asked for an AoE DOT for themselves as SCH and WHM had them at that time.
Think it's around page 80ish in the Healer Forum. I Checked it a while back bc I wondered just that.
None exist beyond nuances of cleric stance, and maybe come complaints about AST rng pre STB.I keep reading that we healers demanded our kits simplified and this "one button spam" is actually our fault. That we asked for this.

IIRC, most of the commentary was the occasion where a cohealer would prioritize dps (or a healer would prioritize dps in 4-man content) leading to folks dying or content being more difficult than need be, causing people to complain. I believe the response was to, lower the amount of button bloat and redirect some of the damage into their dot(making it longer) and Glare equivalent(higher potency) so that healers would have less of a need to focus on dps, and more on healing or in general, give them less to juggle so that they could exclusively focus on keeping hp up.
You can ask for things to change again even if you asked for them to change before. This is not a genie in a bottle with a limited amount of wishes. The playerbase and game surrounding those changes have also changed. Maybe those changes don't make sense anymore. How is that hard to grasp? What are you afraid of, dev time being stolen from changes you want? Why can't we put you on trial for how justified or not the things you want from the game are? Why do we need to conform to your success conditions because the word strike was used? Why do I have to care if you like my protest or not? Why do I have to be accountable for other people and their goals in this movement? Whyyyy am I supposed to care about anything you have to say?
it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.
