Well if someone wants to lie on the ground, who am I to deny the floor tank their job?

    Edit:
If you want to argue not spamming res on someone should be a reportable offense, not doing DPS by being constantly dead should also be a reportable offense.

Wouldn’t it be more like a dps standing around refusing to press their buttons? I mean, if they’re constantly dead they’re literally incapable of doing damage, so it may not be a conscious choice. Again, that’s assuming they’re not doing things like intentionally throwing themselves into aoes or the like, then they’re just trolling.

And I mean, whether or not it’s a ‘reportable offense’ is really up to the moderators. But I’d like to hope they’d consider the context in any case. I’d say it’s more of a playstyle thing than anything.

Plus isn’t there that thing about ‘lethargic play’? If you’re like, healing so much you don’t have the MP/GCDs to cast Resurrection etc then nobody could reasonably try to report you for not immediately reviving them. But if you’re just spamming Glare standing over their dead body with a near-full MP bar, I don’t see why there’d be any reason not to Raise someone, even if they had died a load of times. I mean, it’s only 1 GCD worth of dps potency loss if you have Swiftcast.

Not to say that ‘refusing to raise someone’ should start being an actual reportable offense, just that it’s not how I personally approach the situation

Dying by not even attempting to avoid AoEs falls under the same "lethargic play" category.

Whether it’s because of skill or connection issues or whatever I don’t think ‘just giving up’ on someone because they hit a certain amount of deaths is ever the right way forward. I mean, I can completely understand doing what you can to help them and they die anyway lol, even healers have their limits. As a Scholar I can’t say I generally have MP issues even when raising unless I get bored and use Seraphism to start spamming Accession ( “you WILL be healed!!!! …and I’ll look ugly as hell doing it”. Though I do meld piety because idk masochism I guess lol.
So there absolutely is a case where you just have to give up on them, it's when you have to consider your options.
If I raise this player who died 6 times now, do I run out of MP?
Do I potentially take damage myself because Swiftcast isn't available?
Do I run out of oGCD resources trying to get their health back up, leading to potentially more dead people?

If, could, maybe.... this is just a contrarian argument about a tangent. This "What If: is not the scenario the OP described. You might as well be arguing that the person was spamming insults the whole time.... it has nothing to do with the situation at hand.

Anyway, wishing the best to everyone in their experiences.

So people who play healers should just take chit from other players? They asked them to do mechanics (OH LIKE EVERYBODY ESLSE DOES), they choose to be a snarky jerk and not do the mechanics. It sounds like they were asked nicely, and still choose to be a jerk. A simple sorry im being a jerk would have cleared it all up. But since they were talking to a healer I supposes they don’t have to use basic courtesy like a normal human being. Them being an Ahole has nothing to do with them being a DPS and everything with them being a chit person.

Nope thats not what I am saying, it does not mean a healer (or anyone) should just "take shit" from others and deal with it. What I am saying is that stooping to their level and refusing to play as a team player is just as bad as not doing mechanics or something similar.

I said to be the bigger person and be a positive in the experience, not additional to the toxicity. And no, they aren't going to just say "oh I'm so sorry" because that's not who they are and are possibly just looking to trigger people for fun. The healer in this particular situation was not above scrutiny either, from their post saying essentially "don't make me angry, you wont like me when I'm angry"
Is in fact just as toxic as it's a threat to another player if taken that way.

Lastly "them being an ahole has nothing to do with them being a dps" dps in my post is a place holder for a character name as all we know is dps viper. So yes it doesn't have anything to do with being a dps, anyone can be a shit person. In this particular instance it was a shit dps person.

I'm done here take your Fat L.

Ok it seems it need a bit more explanation.

I was doing my Leveling roulette and i got Stone Vigil.
The party was : a PLD, a BLM (who was doing it for the first time), me (WHM) and this guy (VPR)
So from the start until the first boss, the tank pulled 'normally' and this guy didn't avoid any of the AOE.... I was often low on MP with Lucid Drean and POM on CD.

The first boss, having only a cleave, wasn't hard but, after we killed it, i asked to VPR : [Name] can you do mechanics and avoid AOE please? It will make the run smoother.
This here i got the : Who care you will heal me.

After this answer, the Tank clearly got cautious and only did a small pull. After all mobs were dispatched, the tank didn't hit run and also pulled the next little group.
At this moment the guy said : "C'mon" and left pulling another pack of mobs and more, since one of the wandering dragon was also here.
After the little ordeal that ensued (the guy still didn't care about AOE and such), the Tank said : Bruh, seriously.
And me i was like "ok this guy don't give a sh*t"

Come the second boss.... And this is here that i let him die because : he didn't avoided a single tornado set!
And then come the aggressive tone, that clearly finished to set me off.
This is when i said that i wasn't a heal bot and that he shouldn't make the healer angry (i concede it was bad wording... i should have put a "a" instead of "the")

    Then the guy left.

In the end, the most ironical part is that, the 2 others party member said i was right to have done what i did.... But on this thread i'm a toxic player.

Sorry, but i would do it again to thoses kind of cretin that ruin everyone run. i won't kneel and say "oh all mighty DPS, My Lord, you do as you please"
I'm someone very patient, who like to help others when they don't understand a mechanics,i don't mind losing time for someone that have trouble doing something and die often.
All of this i don't care.... but jerk like this guy, no. I won't let them walk all over me just because i play healer. I'm not here to please them, i'm here to play. If they want a Heal Bot, they just have to use trust.

I wonder if theres ever going to be a classic wow thing with XIV.
Like someday a private server for ARR-SB pops up and a bunch of people play it and then that forces CBU3 to realise that there are people that liked the older job design.
