They made it harder to optimize, but I do not think most normal mode and dungeon healers care about what is optimal. People also did not like dot management either.

They did make it more accessible by the nature of making it so healers do not have to play optimally to clear the content. I mean come on we already have people crying about the current difficulty of the current normal mode raid. They can throw out a dps spell every so often and generally get a clear in both normal and dungeon content.

Which is where I think personally they balance the classes around that level of play, but then add harder content like ult to challenge players. It is a balance idk maybe in their heads they feel if they add a little more depth to jobs they will have to tone down encounters to keep a certain balance idk.

But I mean that just circles back round to “if they are balancing the content assuming that the healer is getting 1 GCD uptime in every 10 because they are overwhelmed then the design of the damage kit shouldn’t matter because you just engage with it as far as you are able”

What I am saying is let us be honest, what MMO community do you know of that would not push people to do what is best or fastest? It is the same issue with specs. Say you enjoy playing a certain spec but it does a certain percentage less then another you know parts of the community to not let said spec take part. Just how gamers are.

Say they made it 100% optional people would still push for it to be the standard. We still see it with shit like W2W and single pull tanks. Optional is optional but some people would go out their way to push others to a certain standard. I do not think SE is for that. Take the change to feast chat, honestly I think we should have chat and just report the bad apples, but they rather just nuke chat to limit the issue altogether.

I think that according to Y-P and the target playerbase... that sentence should be reworked to..."they balance the content because healers are being overwhelmed and cant do jack without stress or feeling responsible"

they picture most healers as those waifu pillows they like but that have feewings.

as it stands, Y-P has said that healers dont need to worry about dps, and then proceeds to give away aoe healing and makes it so we dont have much to heal. we are meant to look good in their ever so graciously provided BDSM gear..... and like it.

Which is why the strike confused me at first because I thought most people saw that for whatever reason Yoshi-P thinks the FFXIV community are just dog shit players that cannot handle much of anything. They must be protected from the mean horrible players that have certain standards. SE does not even care enough to update their training hall.

Edit: My boomer self gave up the fight once they changed smn freeing up some design space then gave us a reskin. Instead of doing something as simple as tying different summon to each phase. So have three for Phoenix and three for bahamut. Alas nope. So I hope you guys get everything you want and more. Just some of the logic does not track for me that is why I am here responding. End of the day maybe it does not track because yall have hope, when I have none.

no, I think he does get feedback and changes are made based on that. the question is, especially in light of the viper changes, and even the ast card changes.. where any of this supposed feedback comes from. apparently its substantial, but even the JP playerbase seems confused by it. the JP players want to heal, not dps from what I hear, which I agree with. if he was listening to them.. we would have more to heal.. but we dont. if he listened to the NA/EU players, would be more dps focused, and its not. so... who IS he listening to?

I am still salty over smn changes lol, and even more so in DT cause I bought into the koolaid the rework would allow for more summons to be added, and instead we got bahamut 2.0 sure it is flashy but it is more of the same.

Maybe it does not help that many of content creators think the healerstrike is a joke so maybe that is who he listens to idk.

better question would be then, do any of them main healer? CBU3 got rid of their one healer designer... so if no CC main healer... I'd say thats a huge problem.

It also doesn’t help that because of the terrible healer design none of the big content creators actually main healer (momo is the most well known and he is very specific about not being a click bait creator)

You have 10* the amount of arthurs style “you are an NPC here to fill my queues so I can have fun” style creators than you actually have healer creators, there is proverbially nobody to defend us
