Honestly I see little to no mention of the Healer strike in game at all, and it's become less topical outside of this thread in general.
Unless they commented on it, I don't think the strike was to blame or even a pretext on this person's mind.
Just definitely seems like a troll, especially since they suddenly knew how to heal with it was their own life at stake. We had those before the strike and will after.
I think overall they are uncommon, at least.
Oof, ya report them for trolling. THAT is not a healer or someone that I think is apart of the strike, but I have no proof in either direction. I can say that strikers have, more or less, decided to not use the healer roles as part of duty finder so, while I see it as unlikely, there is no proof of every striker taking up that mantle.Wanting healers to be better is all fine and dandy, I started as a WHM and would love to see a more complex version of it someday, but can grumpy strikers please stop queueing as healers and making everything that much worse for everyone? I've wanted to get back into tanking, but it feels like 90% of the time I get a healer who is so fed up with the game and has decided to make it everyone else's problem.
Dear SGE, yes, I am a WAR, but this is the Sunken Temple of Qarn. I don't have the insane self-sustain at this level. Why is the Kardia on you? Stop spamming Eukrasian Prognosis on the DRG, I am literally dying to single pack pulls here, you absolute cretin. Also I saw you using your entire kit to keep yourself alive when I ate shit and died. I am going to scream. Just a crumb of healing I am begging you.
Also, what is this current trend of SCHs not having their fairy out? Does anyone have Esuna on their hotbar? Why are you suddenly wanting to tank as AST? What is the meaning of life? Why do I even exist?
Please, for anyone that reads this, if you encounter someone in duty finder that is actively trolling or making your playtime harder from playing against the party, report them, kick them, and hopefully they get their accounts in GM jail or more. Personally, I believe that if you join a queue, you should be ready to play what job you queue with.
Unfortunately people are using "bad healers" to deligitimize the strike as a way to handwave away the issues raised with the role. "You can't complain or demand changes to the role because there are bad healers there that can't even perform the bare minimum healing." is a take often repeated in this thread (and I am personally starting to get really tired of it).
I agree, report or kick them like you would anyone else for greifing.Oof, ya report them for trolling. yes it is tiring, but making the role even EASIER isnt the answer. because then people will just get worse. people playing just dont feel the responsibility anymore thats why the roles like tank and healer are "scary"Unfortunately people are using "bad healers" to deligitimize the strike as a way to handwave away the issues raised with the role. who we blame for that? the parents?
anyway, no one disagrees that there are some that dont want to do the bare minimum. we just need to ensure the game teaches them that at least (which it barely does, DT healer role quest writer I am looking at you) and for that.. SE needs to step up.

I come from 1.0 thanks. I've seen the arguments, and I've seen how the content has never changed to REQUIRE DPS from the healer. Between the developers confirming that, and poorly skilled players complaining about DPS numbers for purely egotistical reasons, not once has anyone shown where a piece of content in the game was actually designed as not completable by playing it as designed.
Media Tour 2021:
Mrhappy1227: Healers in Final Fantasy XIV often discuss how often they are casting DPS spells despite being healers. Often nicknaming jobs like White Mage a “Glare Mage” as an example. The Media Tour build has some new healing skills that also have damage components to them. Has the team taken any feedback from the players on improving interactivity with the healers? Whether that be more interesting DPS skills or more prominent healing requirements.
Yoshida: So I totally understand that those healers that have a very high player skill level and they’ve really mastered their jobs go into these different raids or battles and when they do have some downtime between their heals they do cast more offensive spells. Some of them desire to have more technical aspects of it so they are more active and I totally understand that sentiment. But of course the basis of a healer is to heal so I think the development team and I have this thinking of getting that sense of exhilaration from doing really good heal work.
That being said I don’t think we would do any sort of dramatic addition of offensive skills moving forward. By having these offensive abilities some players, like new healers, might feel pressured like “oh do I have to have good DPS while I’m healing?” or some players might be aggressive like “oh hey you have an offensive skill in your kit, why don’t you use it?” and I don’t think that’s optimal either.
But of course we do have the new job, Sage, which will allow for this unique gameplay where if you land an attack it heals at the same time. Or if there’s like a particular barrier ability that you cast and once that’s depleted it increases the resource which could lead to an attack which is very unique. I think players would be interested in trying that out for sure.
I have had tanks intentionally run/dash into people with AoE busters way more times than I've seen healers maliciously Rescue someone.Unfortunately there are just some griefers in this game, and healers have tools to grief harder than the other roles. For example, a couple weeks ago while tanking when I got a Tankbuster a bored healer pulled me into everyone else with Rescue. The timing was intentional.
And the amount of DPS who have caused a wipe by using LB3 before the healer could save the pull by getting everyone up has also been pretty high.
When you ignore all evidence given, as recently even as within the past few pages, ofI come from 1.0 thanks. I've seen the arguments, and I've seen how the content has never changed to REQUIRE DPS from the healer. Between the developers confirming that, and poorly skilled players complaining about DPS numbers for purely egotistical reasons, not once has anyone shown where a piece of content in the game was actually designed as not completable by playing it as designed.the curvature of the Earthcontent that requires dps from healers, then sure enough, in effect no one has shown a single piece of content in the game designed to require dps from the healers.
When you don't, however, that evidence remains. Such as even in literal MSQ solo scenarios. Or multiple Savage fights. Or, indirectly, the ToA, for which the developers have confirmed that refusal to deal damage in one's spare time is a kickable offense under "Lethargic play".
Yet, unskilled yet highly defensive players prefer to tout an almost immediately disproven errant quote from the first few years of the game in an attempt to defend for themselves said lethargic play contrary to the actual ToA.
Also: Healers dealt damage in their spare time even in 1.0.

I'd say that if Tanks can have DPS kits, Healers should be able to have at least the same level of DPS... So either nuke all the tanks damage output and just slap on Enmity boosts to their attacks, or make Healers better.
If there's people who can speak Japanese and can actually manage to talk to the developers, maybe they could hammer them with questions on why Tanks are allowed DPS kits if healers aren't... Just as "Healers should heal", Tanks should just tank.
