The only quests like that for me, are Blahsja and Zadsnore, and that one fishing quest from ARR. And I would rather play healer than do those absolute tragedies of game design. Cause I really don't care about getting ugly relics, and the person who designed that fishing quest, and fishing in general, needs a shot to the junk. Maybe they're the one designing healers, come to think of it.

IDK about the rest of you, but 15 minutes of fun per hour is not worth it to me. My plan was to main DPS this expac for my own reasons. I will switch to a different job if it means I actually get to play the game. I just really hope it doesn't come to that.
I imagine the biggest hurt about long queue times (assuming something pops at all) is that it's going to slow down most people's leveling, as roulettes is where the bulk of our EXP comes from. But there's still other methods, and people here will probably be better off than I am because most of you were already at the end of Endwalker waiting to waltz into Dawntrail and all the 90-100 content it offers, solo included. Whereas I in my insanity, got every combat job to 90 and I haven't even finished all of Heavenward yet. Of course, I also played a *lot* of PVP, where even if you don't heal (and you really don't need to) all of the healers (especially SCH & AST) can still wreck folks.

So for those who still want to level healer while staying true to the strike, Frontlines does give a very generous amount of EXP with its own roulette, and maybe dunking on some tanks might be oddly satisfying. Just putting it out there...

Also if you want an example of a truly squishy tank, try BLU Tank, base caster HP, while also at the same time missing the whole weapon worth of VIT. And while they do have 20% max HP upkeep buff, it's still calculated from that same caster HP minus weapon worth of VIT.
You're misunderstanding the statement made. Nowhere did I say "I believe that Tanks are too Squishy." I said "I believe more people view that tanks are too squishy." Hence Square listening to that feedback and beefing up Tanks Damage Migitation, which is the exact opposite of what was asked in this thread. The purpose of the statement wasn't to point to my personal belief on particular matter on Tanks damage migitation, but my belief on why Square went the direction that they did in Dawntrail.

I'm sorry but are you seriously comparing a forum strike in a video game to historic factory strikes? And people call us dramatic.

And what's more, you are fabricating mind-blowingly malicious intentions out of thin air that have never even been remotely expressed and are also incredibly irrational to assume in the first place? In the context of a video game strike?

Not only have they never been expressed (which would be ridiculous in the first place), if you had just checked the OP you'd have found that quote from above that immediately disproves your bizarre insinuation.

Did you at no point stop to think "Comparing a video strike, that only talks about how some ppl won't queue as healers anymore and how they are not having fun, to beatings in the 1900s is perhaps not the amazing comparison I thought it was"?

Likewise. I remember being amazed when dungeon finder was put into WoW.

I also remember 3-4 hour queue times on Steamwheedle Cartel as a DPS at times after we got dungeon finder. I do believe I can handle whatever my queue time is now. For that matter most of what I do can be handled by duty support or trust if I get tired of waiting.

Everyone should just play what makes the game fun for them. If healing no longer is it then play something else. Nothing wrong with it.

Can we split the game into FFXIV Global and JP? Clearly we have conflicting ideas what is fun as a healer and it is a bit nauseating how much JP players receive favouritism in their opinions and how much their ideas resonate with the developers. The Eukrasian Dyskrasia change to no longer stack with Eukrasian Dosis III is like the most blatant example of this now.

Maybe if we had two different builds based on two different design philosophies, we could actually see for ourselves how "unfun" the other side might be.

Tanks are not squishy in FFXIV, I have completed coils with my Paladin synced, OT Myths of the realm and as far as "casual" dungeon and trial content is concerned even my gunbreaker feels study enough to take a good few hits without panicking. When I am healing I find that if you have a warrior as tank you can just chill and focus on green dps throwing out the odd tetra/DB/Regen and if things get spicy some regen, aoe healing and Assize.

Sadly the majority of people who has posted against healer concerns have largely just dismissed genuine feedback as healers "having a whinge" or being negative nelly's. This can't be further from the truth.
Let's be clear, I personally do not have an opinion on if Tanks are too squishy or not, but just because you have an easy time running as a tank does not mean that this is the experience that the majority of players have. The problem with statements like this is we take our own personal skill and capabilities an automatically assume that the majority of people fit within these guidelines. In fits similarly along the just world fallacy, which is exhibited much more strongly in western societies versus eastern societies like Japan due to the hyper focus lens via an individualistic perspective.
For example, early this week, I was in a Shinryu Trial where the entire group wiped over 6 times. Does that mean I should apply this experience to represent the general audience as a whole? Of course not, because that was one particular experience just like how you were able to complete coils as a paladin synced.

The idea that people should unilaterally support all of these concerns make little sense seeing as some of the concerns cross over into different territory. From removing the tankiness of tanks, to increase the threat level of the game. Many are voicing their opposition to said topics because they clearly disagree with some of the messaging being presented. For me personally, had the topics been solely relegated to just healing DPS, I never would have had an issue. But I definitely have an issue with "the threat level being too low" aka increasing the base difficulty of the game.

Just goes to show that Blizzard doesn't have the monopoly on the MMO design philosophy of "Fun has been detected and nerfed" anymore.

And then we got Fell Cleave spam. Which got nerfed to a braindead 3 guaranteed Fell Cleaves, because I guess fitting 5 in a window was somehow hard? But then why did DRK get that exact same playstyle for their rotation?
Sounds similar to the dragoon change. I guess fitting 2 nastronds with a ten second cooldown into a 30 second window or whatever it was was too inaccessible.
Now you just use them right away and life of the dragon does nothing, its just a colored bar that slowly goes down. Maybe it used to be a buff or something? They may as well get rid of it and just make the sequence a weave rotation of jump-mirage dive-jump-mirage dive-geirskogul-nastrond nastrond (which is the geirskogul button anyway). At that, jump can pretty much turn into mirage dive too. So its all been simplified to weaving 1-1-1-1-2-2-2.
Though they did something to let you start life of the dragon earlier for the two minute meta so thats not entirely accurate. It might just be 1 1 2 2 2 weave rotation.
I dont play much dragoon, only got it to 90 recently to enjoy it before the changes.
