So what you're saying is that those of us who are switching to DPS don't have to worry about long que-times? That's totes awesome! (ᗒᗨᗕ)I was planning to play dps or tank this expac, but I have all healers leveled to 90 at the moment and I'm not afraid to use them. All I can say is... y'all are in for a treat when it comes time to actually *do* something in this game. Sure you can play through the dungeons with trusts, but you're not going to clear the MSQ trials without a healer. So strike all you want, but before you commit fully to this cause, just be aware that someone will come up to fill the void left in the wake of this protest. If your intent is to prevent others from playing the game, then we will find a way to play it. If that means switching to healer, then so be it. Your strike means nothing unless you can get everyone on board and you won't while there are still folks who just want to complete the content and move on with their lives.
Play the game, or don't, but stop acting like you are actually going to make a change this way.
I'm still remembering the tank protest from P1 Savage and how long it lasted before PF just kept doing things the same way as ever.
Don't have to, but again, I'm not afraid to if it means I get to play the game on my own timeline, not yours.
The whole point of a strike is to send a message. It is intended that everyone supports it or else it sends the wrong message. Remember the strikes of the early 1900's? What they don't tell you in history books is that if factory workers didn't join the strike, then they were taken out and beaten for it. Is that really your intention to get your way?Not our intention. It's about a concentrated effort at communicating that healers participating in the strike switch classes because they do not have fun anymore, after their feedback has been falling on deaf ears for years.
If nothing changes, also fine, since ppl in this thread will have a good time playing other classes and good for the people who take up healers instead of them if they have a good time. Clearly it means, FF14's healer is not designed for those who abandon the role due to not enjoying it anymore.
No, I'm not. I didn't type any of those words. Try again.
However, the sad truth is that if enough healers quit, then someone will fill the void out of desperation. Your queue time will be quite long in the mean time. #shuddersInWoWdpsQueueTimes #45minutesIsTooLongForADungeon

From the very OP of this post:
I'm sorry but are you seriously comparing a forum strike in a video game to historic factory strikes? And people call us dramatic.
And what's more, you are fabricating mind-blowingly malicious intentions out of thin air that have never even been remotely expressed and are also incredibly irrational to assume in the first place? In the context of a video game strike?
Not only have they never been expressed (which would be ridiculous in the first place), if you had just checked the OP you'd have found that quote from above that immediately disproves your bizarre insinuation.
Did you at no point stop to think "Comparing a video strike, that only talks about how some ppl won't queue as healers anymore and how they are not having fun, to beatings in the 1900s is perhaps not the amazing comparison I thought it was"?

I'm not white-knighting the devs if that's what you're insinuating. I just think that everyone here hasn't quite considered all the facts and one of those being that the void left behind by the striking healers won't be so easily filled. So go enjoy your DPS jobs until it's time to queue for your first MSQ trial.Cool! I hope you (and many others) will enjoy filling the queues for the strikers who swap to tank/dps/no longer plays healer in pug environments. Rest assured nobody wants to force you to play the worst role in the game, including us. 'Cause guess what, we don't pay your sub!
It's a sad truth that folks needed to be this noisy to get the discussion points even perceived or listened to. Feedbacks has been streaming in for 5-8 (depending on where you draw the line) years on the healer subforum, yet only managed to get a dismissive "lmao go play ultimate" the first time folks got even a little loud about it alongside vitriols from their snarling white knight defenders. Why am I not surprised this Healerstrike also have their fair share of naysayer in their white knight glamours.
Dismissive job dev & their white knights, name a more iconic duo. #GCBTWI've played DPS the whole game (except for Savage raiding; but surely *this time* I won't have to switch to healer just to complete the tier in a reasonable amount of time, right? right?). The queue times are downright hurtful at times. I just hope you're all prepared to go from not enjoying the game because you don't like how a job is designed - to not enjoying the game because you literally can't play it while you wait for someone else to play that job you don't like.
It's easy to ignore a inconvenient truth if it makes doing something easier.... but it's foolish to ignore that truth if one isn't prepared to accept the natural consequences of ignoring said truth.
I'm not against the strike, I just don't see the point in it. SE hasn't listened so far, so what makes you think "We'll get 'em this time, boys! This time for sure!"?

Because doing something is always better than doing nothing. Giving feedback might mean it will get ignored, not giving any guarantees it will be. Will this amount to anything tangible? Maybe not. Has it gotten more people talking about healers than any other time in the last decade I can think of? Yes.
#healerstrike
Because even if SE continues to ignore the ex-healers, those healers at least get to go do something else fun instead. And if all the naysayers and anti-strikers want to step up and replace them, by all means nobody is stopping them, because it just insures said ex-healers experience no downside whatsoever to the strike while the supposed "gotcha" crowd has to do the thing they're sooooo sure is perfectly designed and fun.
Alright then, bluff has been called, and we fully expect this new batch of healers to do what they're told with zero complaints because they literally asked, nay, begged and bragged about taking over the role.

Our queue time as DPS/Tank will be the same as already non healer players and we all know it. So I don't get the point.
Or, maybe you want to force us playing a job we don't enjoy anymore for the sole reason we start the game with that role ? Are taking us for your slaves or something ?
If you're afraid you can't be patient enough for the queue times, you're free to switch to healer.
Healer? What do you even need one for?
Please point out in my own words where I said that. Our queue time as DPS/Tank will be the same as already non healer players and we all know it. So I don't get the point.

I mean, they keep saying that they design healers to attract players who normally don't play healers. Maybe it's time for these mythical players to step up and play healers now. Surely they exist, right? Our queue time as DPS/Tank will be the same as already non healer players and we all know it. So I don't get the point.
