What a bummer... I was excited for the double dot on SGE. Was hoping for a return of this "difficulty" layer.
It's really hard to understand the Dev team. Their visions seem so different from the players and obviously it will be always like this. Yet, we have no idea what they're discussing and who is against certain changes. It's also like "the concept sounds good on paper", but it is barely fun to play.
This reminds me a lot of Eureka release. They had the genius idea, that we had to chain trash monsters 200x to gain single digit clusters. The FATE trains started, cause players couldnt be bothered by this idea.
