    Unsubbing only gives us -1 healer in queues while playing another role also adds +1 DPS/Tank in queues. Square is very much metric driven nowadays given their justification for removing Kaiten and how they viewed EW relics as "successful".

    Unsubbing also doesn't give us the option to give feedback for why we unsubbed. For all they know it was because people didn't like something completely unrelated to healer design. I still love the game, enough to where I'm still willing to pay my sub, but I despise how healers have been designed for the past 5 years, so I'm leaving my feedback, not touching them and encouraging anyone else who feels similar to do the same.

    Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
    1. An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
    2. Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
    3. Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
    4. Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.

    I'm pretty sure SE has metrics on what jobs you played, the amount of time you spent on them, when you spent your time on them, and what kind of content you spend your time on. If they see primarily a bunch of healer mains unsub, I'm sure they can notice. Otherwise I don't know what kind of metric driven team they are.

    Even still, telling people "just unsub" isn't helpful when they also play the game for other reasons besides healing. I like my house and housing, I like glamours, and I still enjoy playing RDM. MNK got reworked for EW because it was the least played melee by far, Monk mains didn't need to unsub for that, same with the current AST rework. People don't need to unsub to see the changes they want, just swap to something else and convince anyone else who feels similarly to do the same.

    If anything, telling people to unsub just feels like "go away, we don't want you".

    Telling people to unsub is more like "be smart, don't get addicted to something you don't enjoy anymore".

    Except I still enjoy it, just not one aspect of it. So telling me to unsub is pointless.

    If I found I didn't enjoy most aspects of the game, from its focus on story, the combat, the visual appeal, etc. then it's worth telling me to unsub because at that point it's just not the game for me. Telling someone to unsub when they still enjoy most of those things doesn't come across as "be smart". It's dismissive.

    This is pretty much how I look at it.

    I feel like this game has reached a point where it's actually hard for me to call a job my "main" job, because I am very much open to jumping ship to something else the second the dev team upend how my current "main" plays. There are definitely people who play the ONE role or the ONE job, and to them, enjoyment of the game hinges almost entirely on the stability of that job. If the devs upend that job, well...... there goes your linchpin of enjoyment.

    I really rather not put myself in that situation, so while yes, I lament the current state of healers. I am also just not... really stressing too much about it, because it ultimately harms my enjoyment of the game as a whole. As such, I've just adopted an attitude that goes "oh, they changed it and it's now worse in my eyes? That sucks.... Anyways."

    Reminder people aren't quitting the game theyre quitting their main role in the game to play other roles and letting the devs know why. The "unsub" argument is stupid because all the people on the strike are doing is quitting playing 4 jobs out of 20 lmfao.

    Then I don't see this strike having much weight at all. If you're really passionate about wanting said healer changes, then something's gotta give. That means you sacrificing your means of playing FF14. Otherwise you'll have to deal with no fundamental changes for a long LONG time. The proposed healer changes in the OP are not only a healer change, but a change to overall battle content and reward structure design as well. It would be an absolutely massive undertaking for SE to properly redesign under the conditions set forth by OP.

    I'm reminded of this thread from 2019 when ShB was new.

    You'll see a few familiar faces there, but notice the amount of people saying they're quitting healing that also just don't show up anymore. People have quit, and that still doesn't tell Square something. Telling people to unsub doesn't help because Square won't always know why people are quitting.

    A mass of people swapping will tell just as much that healers are unfun without them also losing out on the things they do enjoy.

    The "give" is that we're not playing a Healer role - which is going to be in high demand in a week and change. You'll still have Healers, but they may not be that good depending on the skill level of your healer. Let alone, it's not the first time we've had instant changes in a whole patch. Warrior is the only job that has gotten ability changes mid-expansion, namely to Shake it Off. PLD got reworked to fit the WAR paradigm that has cannibalized everything a Tank represents. If they're going to change anything? They need to start with healers since they've been hurt the most by the changes since Shadowbringers.
