Unless SE comes out and acknowledges that directly, I'll continue to campaign against it. Because it's not all roses and sunshine as you are describing. Any one job that can solo group desgined content easily is a problem, for both player experience generally and roles whose job it is to heal.

Try leveling up your Warrior and soloing old content with it, unsynced, and see if you change your tune in the end. It's quite fun. I do that with a friend of mine, though I haven't tried soloing as I've prompted. Duoing is enough for me. Because Warrior exists, it's possible to clear some content like the Aquaducts with a lighter party: one tank, one healer, a DPS to expedite. This works well for people who play with a couple of friends like me instead of using Party Finder to make a large party.

While I wouldn't consider myself a fan, the bogeyman of general gaming internet himself, Asmongold, has a line that rings pretty true. "Every gaming strike is just one good cinematic away from ending." I highly doubt this movement's going to go anywhere come Dawntrail.

I remember the WoW sit-in when all the Blizzard stuff happened - people sat around justifying that they would not be participating in any content while they had paid for their sub. They would just log in to sit in the major city.

Surprise surprise, the sit-in fell apart one week later when people got bored and then continued to sub and play because it was all slacktivism. Shameful.

Non-standard lines were fun on BLM. Kaiten was fun for some SAM. AST cards are about to be ruined for some. Unfortunately game balance doesn't always benefit all player preferences.

If your fun is dependent on solo RPGing an MMO, frankly you should unsubscribe. Most content is designed for groups.

I like Warriors as they are. Honestly, the current tank balance feels great to me. I'm not a tank main, but it's amazing to be able to cheese old EX and Savage content as a duo warrior and the Normals of the last expac. Warrior was a superstar in Eureka back in Stormblood for its ability to grind solo. I was always jealous because I hadn't leveled my Warrior high enough to use it, but I got my grind done despite.

Every job in this game has its own charm and allure. I love playing them all and I love Final Fantasy 14.

You’re kind of highlighting the comment right above you. The better you’re at sage, the less you have to shield the tank, the less you get to use toxicons.

Toxicon does more DPS than Dyskrasia. Phlegma does more damage too. I'd be happier if it was long-range like Toxicon. If all you're doing is spamming Dyskrasia, that's boring! It's the same as Holy and Gravity spam in the end. My style uses frequent shielding to feed Toxicon to maximize damage. While spamming might be more effective at the end of the day, it's certainly less enjoyable.

I mean, I like Warrior as my preferred tank since I mostly like Healing and dislike tanking. I get to keep healing while also being able to ignore every mechanic and stack up 15 stacks before it matters. But not good design lol.

I think that was the point, though. They wanted there to be a job or two that stood a head above the others. Sure, it annoyed me when one Warrior smirked at me at the start of a dungeon, saying, "I don't need you." Despite having faced that kind of smugness and been pissed off by it, I still would defend keeping Warriors as they are. Speaking of which, Dark Knights need a bit more love. They're too squishy. Square needs to put them nearly on par with Warriors.

I'll say it again, you don't need healers in launch EX content normally, so it will be funny to see how annoyed general populace get when they realize PF standard just throws out healers and it is instead replaced with 'Stop being bad'. It will likely not last into Savage content, but being as disruptive as possible for anything below it by either not playing, or optimizing PF strats to kick healers completely out of fights is something that can be done. And it's already raised brows before when it came to Titan Egi for tanks, so why not recreate it by throwing out healers instead?
