I genuinely think they're still mad about the ACN split and are trying to push people away from SCH towards the new SGE,

Honestly just make arcanist a healer and completely split summoner and make it, its own job you can go unlock at lvl 30. Lets be honest the scholar and summoner jobs are the two job questlines that desperately need remaking because they describe mechanics that don't even exist in the game anymore.

Can we lock this thread already? This "healer strike" nonsense is so toxic and harmful to the game and community. It shows why the FF forums are a dumpster fire of bad behavior and toxicity.

The only people being toxic in here are people bashing the strike and bashing healers for daring to complain in a polite and constructive manner.

I know that in the ffxiv community, suggesting there might possibly be any potential flaw in the game is blasphemy against your lord and savior yoshi p. I won't pretend people supporting the strike are perfect. But equaly? That doesn't look like anything near reasonble. For example, did people supporting the strike do things like (or at a similar level of) create and distribute lists of people posting in this thread and how much savage/ultimate content they cleared according to some website, with the explicit intent to shame them into silence?

I think we may see a phenomenon along the lines of the downfall of WoW. Just one thing that happens in WoW is that people stand in damage for more damage uptime because they know it wont kill them. This will bring about toxicity in game.
I also notice more toxicity in game in boring easy content like ST and Laby. When people are bored they seem to find ways to entertain themselves that arent healthy for the game.

I think with continued easy game content, the politeness of the ffxiv community to play the game as intended and move out of aoes will decline into people just standing in any aoes they can so they can keep attacking. Especially with massive room wide aoes we saw in the media tour dungeon.
If you do the aoes, you dont need a healer. So if you have a healer then you might as well stand in as much aoe as possible to do more damage to compensate for not running a third dps.

Maybe it would be good for the game though. It would give healers something to do and using the myriad ogcds to heal wont drop dps anyway. Even if a healer is pressed into healing with gcds too from a new meta of standing in aoe to deal more damage, i think the dps keeping uptime will outweigh the healer gcd healing instead of attacking anyway.

These things even get to a point where people will tell new players to not bother moving out of aoes because theyll just lose damage and make the content take longer for everyone. Then soon enough it will be considered toxic to move out of aoes.

This already is the way in other games. Dont think it cant happen here.

And then you have people like me doing ultimates as healer and still saying the role is boring as hell. But pretty sure my opinion doesn’t matter cause I’m an elitist or something….. while people that didn’t do ultimates getting told they are to casual and have no clue what they talk about because they didn’t do the hardest content aka spreadsheet city.

It’s the typical people talking without fact checking anything and flipping the narrative over and over and over again.
