Rather ironic that, the unpleasant sound we get when we place a microphone near to the speakers that it is connected to (ie, the mic is listening to itself), is called 'feedback'
They don't, the forum is mean't for the community to vent. It's some PR thing to make it look as if they cared.
In reality they are doing their thing and if we are not happy, thats the same thing.
In their opinion healers are fine, look at 7.2 patchnote, they are not scared of touching jobs.
They just really think it's fine as it is until at least 8.0.
All my queues keep popping and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of healers. What's going on? Did you cancel the strike or are people scabbing or what?
It's just a case of a ridiculously vocal minority making big waves on the forums and the general population not caring about this.
It's really true that the FFXIV community is its own worst enemy. Players like this one cheering on the destruction of one of the roles and the players who enjoyed it while simultaneously wondering in other threads why the game is dying.
Got told that 'Healer kits are designed with Savage/Ultimates in mind', so I went and used them for Week 1 Savage prog. The same issues (mainly that our 'downtime rotation' is comprised almost entirely of one action) still exist there, even in Week 1. Especially in Week 1, in fact, as we're even more crucial to meeting the DPS requirement to beat enrage
Very annoying, that if we don't play Healer in content, we're told 'well you don't even play healer so your argument is invalid', but if we do, it's 'scabbing'. To say that I wrote all of this, and that at the same time I 'don't support the message the strike is conveying, because I used Healer for prog (the only place it's desinged to be fun, apparently)', these two statements don't math to me. Personally, I don't want the Strike to exist, ideally it never would have had to exist in the first place, but here we are. And rather than just be another complaining voice on the forums, I've offered (via the methods SE themselves recommend ingame) my feedback/ideas/recommendations. I expect that most likely, SE never sees it, or if they do, that they're too prideful to even consider implementing ideas not thought up by them. But every strike has mediators, people in the middle who try to help find a resolution that works for both parties, right? That's the role I decided to try and take on, because the alternative (just complaining) hasn't really gotten anyone anywhere for the past 5 years
Of course, there's no way you could have known that I'd written so much on the subject. Every time I've previously linked to that thread, is buried pages back in this one, because there's like 6 bajillion posts with the same old 'well my queues are still popping, so clearly the strike failed hur hur'. This time, though, a lot of content creators have been giving air to the thread, where they previously would dismiss it entirely, and not make a video at all. Even if they're making a video to say 'look at these idiots thinking they can change things', it's still putting attention on the thread
A forum post on JP forums was accredited with being 'the reason VPR got changed like 5 days after launch' (the removal of Noxious Gnash and the addition of Honed Steel/Reavers as the replacement). It had FOUR likes at the time. Smaller movements have accomplished changes in this game before
Literally can't make it up. The cognitive dissonance is almost impressive

I will say its probably most certainly visible in the savage pf. Most parties are looking for healers over tanks and dps. Lets say its 60 parties in m7s, its like 25 are looking for dps, 30 looking for tanks and 37 looking for healers. And the thing the dps is thst includes all dps of melee, range and casters.
Ah yes very sad, anyway......
And why do you think there's a healer shortage? It can't be because healing is so easy and braindead.. right? Or?I will say its probably most certainly visible in the savage pf. Best way to perform a MMO strike, is with your wallet.
They are willing to let you vent, so long as you are still paying.........
When that money begins to get shorter, and investors start asking questions is when companies implement real changes.
Ran some of binding coil today. Felt a little closer to the healer makeup of ARR but just the battle design itself lends better to healers in general. Truly do miss how fights had to be a collab between everyone to MIT dmg and healers were dps cannons with 3 dps skills iirc (they still need more dps skills imo).
