This is probably one of the main reasons why devs look at this thread and go like " yeah never mind!"

I mean when the devs don’t communicate at all it’s easy to imagine any reason is the reason they don’t communicate
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

I understand what you are saying. I really do. Yet, I feel that giving up and going silent is worse. You're not wrong. It's clear from the forums general vibe that while they can tell an entertaining story, the devs seriously do not know and do not care to know how to balance the healers.
But that's really no different from every MMO for the last 25 years. There is always some voice loudly insisting that their specific niche of the game is so woefully underdeveloped that the people in charge of that aspect must have all been recruited from a Pizza Hutt dumpster raiding party.
And that 25 year thing, that's important for the context. Honestly.
We have been having these same, repetitive discussions for twenty *years* across enough electronic landscape to stretch to the moon, and yet some people really don't get tired of going back in for another whiff of that stale air.
I'm not trying to say discussions shouldn't happen, but my god man. Read the room. Drop your thought and let it be. If one thousand page megathread or a thousand three comment "I'm special too" threads on a subject are all being soundly ignored (in your opinion) then continuing to whine into a vacuum with no audience just makes you look stupid.
And you're not stupid, right?
Our audience is ourselves too. We are sharing our combined experiences and thoughts; and by doing so, remaining a community.
A MMO ignores its community at its own peril. It affects their bottom line. Many developers thought they knew better than their players. Their failed games litter the landscape.
It's not entirely true to say they don't communicate though, they communicate through the action of endless buffs to tanks and content that does no damage, that communication is crystal clear. They just don't communicate with words.

Basically, what Supersnow wrote.
Why do we have GCD heals/mits, OGD heals/mits which rely on a generated resource, and instant heals/mits on their own CDs, all doing the same thing?
It seems so unnecessary. We don't need full action bars.

I feel like it’s pointless trying to find out where do they even pick up the feedbacks when even their part of the forum also sometimes bore comments like “they only listen to NA!!”. Externals like 2chan? Don’t even have to try lol.
If that isn’t enough, any changes they brought in are easily dubbed as ‘community’s feedback’—WHICH?? Oh yeah nobody knows. For all we’ve known, it could’ve been some intern who had a complaint then they actually start sifting the any forum posts to look for that one comment with less than 2 upvotes but scapegoats it anyway by labeling “this is what you all want!” like they’ve implied when they got rid of VPR’s Noxious Gas even when there are other suggestions with 70+ more upvotes. Oh joy!

“Community feedback” just seems like ‘let’s do whatever we want then when asked trawl through the forums retroactively until we can find anything that justifies the decision we were already going to make anyway”
Assuming that 4 upvote JP post is what was the basis of the noxious change there is zero chance you could have read that thread and not seen that that post was overwhelmingly unpopular even by JP “talk around the problem” customs

Rather ironic that, the unpleasant sound we get when we place a microphone near to the speakers that it is connected to (ie, the mic is listening to itself), is called 'feedback'
They don't, the forum is mean't for the community to vent. It's some PR thing to make it look as if they cared.
In reality they are doing their thing and if we are not happy, thats the same thing.
In their opinion healers are fine, look at 7.2 patchnote, they are not scared of touching jobs.
They just really think it's fine as it is until at least 8.0.
