that feels a lot like healing before they changed scholar and one was a cohealer back in the day. I died inside because i knew I was on my own for healing as the scholar was typically just there as green dps (until SE changed that to the screams of all the green dps scholars)

turns out healers that refuse to heal can't be eliminated as long as the trade-off with dps exists. Pretty sure EW making free healing so accessible across the role only made the problem worse.

I'd love to go back and remove the excessive free healing we have now and just learn to deal with the occasional green dpser, though at the same time I wonder if we couldn't just have several styles, with WHM and SCH constantly weighing healing and dps while AST mostly gets by with oGCD healing and SGE gets fully dps-neutral to positive healing when played right.

Just have to bring this again to the front page. Haven gotten to m8s p1 enrage, the only truly threating move in that fight is the tremors. You have to move so much mit around you won't have a lot up for it. Other than that, it becomes very easy to map how you are going to approach the fight.

Even with the increased speed of the fight, my M8S still had 191 casts of Dosis. Over the course of prog, I think I pressed Toxikon more times in that fight than all of Endwalker, so it had that going for it, at least. But again, once we're geared, the difficulty will fall away as it always does

Damn, 4 days since the last reply? Either SE announced that the Healer role will be getting massive changes that fix all the problems it has had for the past 5 years (and I missed said announcement), or M6S adds were so rough that everyone's now convinced that 'actually this is what the role needed all along, Healing gameplay is fun again!' (which doesn't really help with how unengaging it is to do UnderSleep in the EX roulette on a Healer)

Both can be possible, getting bored of SQE ignoring the playerbase don't mean you can't play the game.

Either SE announced that the Healer role will be getting massive changes that fix all the problems it has had for the past 5 years (and I missed said announcement), or M6S adds were so rough that everyone's now convinced that 'actually this is what the role needed all along, Healing gameplay is fun again!' (which doesn't really help with how unengaging it is to do UnderSleep in the EX roulette on a Healer)

I don't see a need to rehash what has been discussed for years already.

The only recent thing that changed is their brand new shiny encounter design, and that hasn't fixed a single thing wrong with the healer role, that's all there is to it.

Eventually things will cycle around to screaming into the void as the devs only solution to stopping tanks from having too much healing and things not generally hitting hard enough is buffing tanks.

At this point I'm not just bored of Healers, the PvE design is a bloated mess compared to the tight and flavorful PvP kits (though those could maybe use another ability or two for some Jobs).
