    Maybe it's just the way you talked about how you don't want resource management for healers, but didn't suggest anything else aside from "Decision making" which is so nebulous, it's borderline meaningless. You even make it seem like you're only talking about the decision to heal or dps and which to use with "What I find interesting is decision making - finding out whether I should be healing or DPSing at a moment in time, and which specific heal/DPS skill to use/optimize"
    This is something we already have in some form, I hope we can agree that we need more of it. (even for DPS skills in Energy drain optimization, the lower range of Phlegma, and the Lilies being a damage gain if used properly)
    Maybe you don't consider cooldown timers and burst windows to be resource management. Maybe something like "use skill right as it comes off cooldown" is what you're after instead of "use skill Y after you've used 5 of skill X to fill up the meter", which I don't fundamentally have an issue with. This is why a simple "Nope- been there, done that- it holds no interest for me" probably wasn't the best choice of wording.
    The point is that you don't try to offer anything to the conversation. You just chime in with how you don't want that certain kind of complexity, and leave it at that.

    Fortunately, you now seem to have understood my point i.e. - a specific type of complexity doesn't interest me. I didn't have to add anything more that that if I didn't want to to "offer anything to the conversation"

    Some ideas and requests just can't happen.

    Assuming the game design remains the same where we have scripted incoming damage we handle with healing cooldowns and resources, the only thing that can and needs to be improved is what healers do in-between.

    Unfortunately Square Enix is deadly afraid to make changes there as these are likely to raise skill floor.

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    That operates under the assumption that people will read, which is a bold assumption to make, considering that many people couldn't even make it through the OP before typing up their extremely insightful comment of "I don't see the problem, so there is no problem lmao XD".

    I've been playing healer since a bit before ShB. But I can barely stand playing it anymore. After almost every dungeon I finish as heal, it feels like I was only there as a safety net that didn't need to be used.

    Like why do you need me when the tank can do my job and their job? Why should I play the safety net that isn't necessary most of the time, when most tanks can also play that safety net? The amount of lvl 90-100 dungeons I've gone through without even having to press anything other than the occasional regen makes me want to actually cry. It didn't used to be like this.

    Feeling gets 1,000 times worse when I accidentally die as a heal, and watch as my team merrily finishes 50% of lvl 100 bosses without any need for me or even a struggle. Like, wow, this role is just an accessory now and the devs don't even care.
