That is disingenuous, FFXIV content is heavily scripted so yes once the content is figured out you can start to replace roles, an argument can be made current savage was grossly under tuned. That being said I do not think any ult or savage has been first time cleared and progged without a healer. That is the point they are trying to make that healer engagement is still a thing during prog. Yes, it is fair to want more of that to in other content but no need to ignore it either. It's been like two months, we're still stuck on this?
An Ultimate was cleared without healers. It's old news.
Switching out a healer for a DPS actively makes dungeons faster while 4 healers is a meme comp that'll clear super slowly. They have kits that are 80% heals but none of them are needed, that's fundamentally broken.

It's pretty frustrating that Sage is so close to having a good DPS kit and exactly the sort of thing healers need.
Genuinely if stacks of Addersting made Toxikon II do more damage from 360 to like 420 and you gained those Adderstings from shield breaks psych uses and dosis crits SGE would have exactly what we would want.
This is a very simple resource build and spender system that you can easily switch between doing and healing but keeping the job more engaging for when you learn a encounter.
The problem is however if anything close to a system like this was placed on SGE we would never see the other healers ever again in roulettes.

#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE

Sage is also not particiular to my liking.
My favored healer currently would be scholar.

You know what I mean, pretty much everyone in roulettes, people who play healer for faster queues would play sage if it had a basic damage system because it would be like playing a Tank.
If that happened sage would probably above 50% in healer players.

You mean similar how Summoner is a very popular class statisticaly because its a good filler caster?![]()

Seems I missed a bit of discussion while I was at work. I guess I didn't miss much.
It would be news to me if casters have positionals since they didn't have any when I played them during Endwalker. I will assume that is false even though I still haven't gotten to them yet. The remark on soloing better on WHM compared to WAR kind of left me dumbfounded a bit ... Clearly someone didn't push the Raw Intuition / Bloodwhetting button. I should know since I constantly levelled that class to 100 using the MSQ and Trust quests >.> Vuln stacks don't mean much to the WAR as long as you still try to read the mechs and adjust later to them. The only general things that could probably kill a WAR is death mechs and lag.
Anyways, I forgot to say what GCDs I was typically using while levelling WHM, SCH and AST through dungeons. I will also have to add in that I am still spamming Glare, Broil and Malefic a lot. Switch that to Holy, Art of War and Gravity when it is AoE on trash packs, of course. There are occasional casts of Regen, Afflatus spells, Adloquium, and Aspected Benefic to capitalize on special utility and cooldowns, but that's about it.

As far as what I've been told Addersting's not allowed to be higher potency because players'll then have to stock up on them for raid buffs, which will make the job "too busy".
I think that'd add a nice layer of complexity for the job but having to manage resources for dps is not something a healer should be doing apparently.

Oh I thought this whole healer strike was just a meme, imagine my surprise finding this thread! I don't mean that sarcastically of course -- I think if other healer mains want to strike that's their choice. Being a DPS main since Heavensward and recently finding a new-found love for healing, I won't be striking, but I hope it goes well for everyone else. :>
