Healers shouldn't only become fun in savage/ultimate raids. This is bad game design healers should be fun by level 15 the first dungeon.

I cleared the tier. I enjoyed the fights despite the Glarespam (well, for me it was Dosis/Broil spam), not because of it. If we had a damage kit more akin to SB, then I would enjoy the fights even more. A lot of the enjoyment of the fights was a combination of having little gear (so things hit very hard) and not knowing the mechanics. Now that I've cleared, those two factors will play less and less effect on my enjoyment of the fights, and what was once a fun experience to prog, will become stale and repetitive. Eventually, raidwides that took multiple mitigations + Barriers to survive, will become 'just use Soil', removing the need to cast Succor and thereby increasing how many Broils are cast.
This is the paradox of healing. The better the group, the less rewarding healing feels. Your example shows it too IMO, you had a great time healing because things were going wrong. The question is, will it feel as fun, when things aren't going wrong? When everyone does the mechanics perfectly, and there's nothing to triage or 'recover'? For a lot of people, the answer is 'no', the uncertainty that comes with prog is what makes current healer design bearable to many players, and without that, the healer role loses a lot of its charm.

Week one is the most gcd-heal-y that it is. There is still a lot of glare. It's hard for me to say what your personal tolerance is. The dps checks are low enough and the other players around me are cracked enough that I was playing extremely safe and gcd healing extra throughout prog and only trimming a little when it came time to go for the clear. Can't really say if it is or isn't to your liking unless you try it. I don't think it's reasonable to expect a fight with zero glares, so.Although I am happy for you, you enjoying healing despite glarespam doesn't make me enjoy it. Not having to press the same button over and over would make me enjoy healing. People tell me to do different content. Does that content change my rotation to have less glarespam and more GCD healing? I'm asking you since you said you completed the tier. I won't waste my time healing anything if it's not fun for me.
Yeah, imo. Sunrise is a bit monkas, I'm sure there will be a better strat soon.
Congrats. To answer this line of thought--of course it will get less interesting when we outgear it. I don't expect the content to be fun forever, though. Soon we'll have FRU, then the tier after that. When there's a content drought completely it's okay to hang up the hat and cane and do something else. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it while it lasts. I don't subscribe to the idea that old and mastered content should be intense or interesting to heal--I don't really see that as a failure.I cleared the tier. This is the unfortunate dichotomy of healing. The better the group, the less rewarding healing feels. Your example shows it too IMO, you had a great time healing because things were going wrong. Came here to say this lol.
Savage being fun to heal is all well and good, but what about all the other content in the game? I don’t think it’s right for devs to say ‘it’s cool that healers don’t have to touch their skills in any normal content because they might get to do it for a week or two when the savage/ultimates release

This is why I don't like other healers....Queen Bee complexesToday almost me hung up healing.
I was doing a low level dungeon with some level 100 VPR.
The guy wasn't doing any mechanics and didn't make any effort to avoid AOE... After a while i asked him to do it.
The answer was "fabulous" : who care you will heal me.
After that the only "healing" he got was rez....He got peeved and began to becoming agressive.
i answered to him that i'm not a heal bot and he should be carefull to not make the healer angry... He left and was very quickly replaced by a very good SAM.
This is becoming absurd.... Between entitled DPS, Tank thinking they are invicible (Except DRK ^^), and the overall lower skill level and politeness.... It's becomming rather bad to be healer.

Fabulous is a fine response. Also healers conplain they are bored then complain when they need to heal...
Bit mainly the condescending "Don't make your healer mad" and then not healing. You are acting foolish and sabotaging the whole group. Just finish the low level dungeon and block them if they are jerks.

I mean, I like to consider things from the other angle.
Like, you’re a dps and the healer is one of those absolutely terrible ones. Spamming Cure exclusively, spamming GlareBroiletc without healing oGCDs, getting hit by AOEs and having to stop and heal themselves or whatever.
The DPS decides to stop attacking. ‘This healer is so bad I’m going to punish them by making them their run take so much longer!’
Doesn’t that seem a little petty? Surely if it’s such a major problem one could just leave? Being frustrated and annoyed in that situation makes perfect sense, but isn’t it just sinking to their level to throw away a portion of your responsibilities within the parties? I mean, assuming having an honest conversation with said healer is out of the question.
Honestly I enjoy having players that are struggling; it actually makes it feel good when I can help them, rather than just going through the entire dungeon with everyone doing everything perfectly.
Not sure what ‘Queen Bee’ complex is exactly, but I think in times when players like this appear it’s better to just do what you can and hope that one day they’ll see the error of their ways (or unsub lol)
