ok fine they stood in a few mechs, they could have survived had you done your job, theirs is damage. yours it to heal, petty and low for you to just not heal them and play your part of the group properly. telling someone to "be careful to not make a healer angry" is classic healer toxic god complex. neither of you were a team player in this situation and im not defending the DPS at all here, but you could have been the bigger person and not be petty about it and just say "we'll be better off as a group if we work together". but naw you stooped just as low as the DPS, no sympathy for you from me.

So people who play healers should just take chit from other players? They asked them to do mechanics (OH LIKE EVERYBODY ESLSE DOES), they choose to be a snarky jerk and not do the mechanics. It sounds like they were asked nicely, and still choose to be a jerk. A simple sorry im being a jerk would have cleared it all up. But since they were talking to a healer I supposes they don’t have to use basic courtesy like a normal human being. Them being an Ahole has nothing to do with them being a DPS and everything with them being a chit person.

The healer in this particular situation was not above scrutiny either, from their post saying essentially "don't make me angry, you wont like me when I'm angry"
Is in fact just as toxic as it's a threat to another player if taken that way.

Lastly "them being an ahole has nothing to do with them being a dps" dps in my post is a place holder for a character name as all we know is dps viper. So yes it doesn't have anything to do with being a dps, anyone can be a shit person. In this particular instance it was a shit dps person.

Ok it seems it need a bit more explanation.

I was doing my Leveling roulette and i got Stone Vigil.
The party was : a PLD, a BLM (who was doing it for the first time), me (WHM) and this guy (VPR)
So from the start until the first boss, the tank pulled 'normally' and this guy didn't avoid any of the AOE.... I was often low on MP with Lucid Drean and POM on CD.

The first boss, having only a cleave, wasn't hard but, after we killed it, i asked to VPR : [Name] can you do mechanics and avoid AOE please? It will make the run smoother.
This here i got the : Who care you will heal me.

After this answer, the Tank clearly got cautious and only did a small pull. After all mobs were dispatched, the tank didn't hit run and also pulled the next little group.
At this moment the guy said : "C'mon" and left pulling another pack of mobs and more, since one of the wandering dragon was also here.
After the little ordeal that ensued (the guy still didn't care about AOE and such), the Tank said : Bruh, seriously.
And me i was like "ok this guy don't give a sh*t"

Come the second boss.... And this is here that i let him die because : he didn't avoided a single tornado set!
And then come the aggressive tone, that clearly finished to set me off.
This is when i said that i wasn't a heal bot and that he shouldn't make the healer angry (i concede it was bad wording... i should have put a "a" instead of "the")

Then the guy left.

In the end, the most ironical part is that, the 2 others party member said i was right to have done what i did.... But on this thread i'm a toxic player.

Sorry, but i would do it again to thoses kind of cretin that ruin everyone run. i won't kneel and say "oh all mighty DPS, My Lord, you do as you please"
I'm someone very patient, who like to help others when they don't understand a mechanics,i don't mind losing time for someone that have trouble doing something and die often.
All of this i don't care.... but jerk like this guy, no. I won't let them walk all over me just because i play healer. I'm not here to please them, i'm here to play. If they want a Heal Bot, they just have to use trust.

I wouldn't blame yourself, you were trying to be nice and were rebuffed even though you were simply trying to make the group's experience a smooth one. It's not like you were rescuing him into avoidable attacks. I'm sorry you went through that. I hope your party reported him, we don't need players like that thinking that type of behavior is okay.

I do draw a line on that sort of thing. If a dps player is refusing to do even the bare minimum, then I will not go out of my way to heal them; if I place a bubble and they happen to be standing in it, great, if I put out a medica for some reason good for them. If I'm feeling generous I might regen them while I'm moving for a mechanic because slidecasting a damage spell is inconvenient.

But in principle, why should I put in the effort if they refuse to? It is just as much their job to not be stood in AoEs as it is mine to heal them (and not stand in AoEs myself).

I actually wouldn't blame the decision made for Lorika or Kaeline. Maybe the wording to explain why could be better. It still doesn't change the point that no should be a slave and all the party members work together to clear the run.

I am still tolerant of mistakes being made. If the DPS player is making an effort to try (which is most of the time), they will still get a Regen, Afflatus Solace or Tetragrammaton depending on when the next mech happens and if it's dangerous to them. If they die despite trying, I will still use Raise and Benediction / Tetragrammaton accordingly.

However, Lorika just said the DPS was sitting in the AoEs and expected to be catered to despite their apathy and ignorance. If the DPS player is not making an effort to avoid at all, then the vuln stacks in later dungeons will eventually get high enough to one shot them anyhow. I might still give something like a Regen, Medica 2/3 or Asylum as an efficient way to get them up for the first hits, but yeah. If they are demanding I spend so many GCDs healing them that the other party members are actually at risk of losing my attention, I will have to make the decision to triage and save the other members first. In that example, losing both the tank and BLM is worse than losing the disrespectful VPR. Even in a logical sense instead of feeling, it makes sense to prioritize the others since that option has the highest probability of the run clearing.
