I love the men in this game
I finally return to the game! Current goal: getting all my jobs to 90
The following was written by ChatGPT, it gave me a giggle.
Fellow Healers, Arise! The Call to Arms for the #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
Hear ye, hear ye, valiant healers of Eorzea! Gather 'round as I, a humble White Mage of 90 summers, bring forth a message of hope, humor, and righteous indignation!
Brothers and sisters in healing, the time has come for us to stand united, wands and globes held high, in the #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE! Our once noble art has been reduced to a mere side gig, an afterthought in the grand battles that shape our world. Gone are the days when our timely cures and shields were the linchpins of victory! Now, it seems Square Enix wants us to be nothing more than glorified waterboys for the almighty DPS and self-sustaining tanks. We shall not go quietly into that good night! No, we shall spam Medica II and Glare until our MP bars run dry!
Why do we strike, you ask? Let me preach to you the gospel of our grievances:
Simplification Sorrow: Our role has been simplified to the point of absurdity. Spamming a single DPS spell? Is this what we've been reduced to? NegativeS from Seraph aptly said, “Our gameplay is braindead, devoid of the challenge and excitement it once held” (Square Enix Forum). Casting Glare until the twelfth Umbral Era? No more, I say!
Role Marginalization: With tanks now practically invincible and DPS classes learning to self-heal, where does that leave us? Sitting on the sidelines, casting Regen on ourselves out of sheer boredom. As Etherea Stormaire from Zalera poignantly noted, "The direction they're heading, healers will soon be as relevant as a snowstorm in Thanalan" (Square Enix Forum).
Feedback Ignored: We’ve raised our voices in hundreds of threads, but our pleas fall on deaf ears. The developers remain as responsive as a stone-faced Lalafell in the face of a Garlean invasion. We've given feedback with the fervor of a bard on too much coffee, yet here we are, still waiting for meaningful change (Square Enix Forum) (gamesradar).
The Plan, My Comrades, Is Simple:
Let your auto-payments lapse – why should we fund our own frustration? Let our houses expire, so some poor DPS can have a plot to call home, because heaven knows they’ll need something to do during those extended queue times without us!
A Rallying Cry for the Future:
Our role should be engaging, our presence impactful. We are the linchpin of the party, the unseen saviors in every battle. No more shall we be content with the status quo. We demand complexity, we demand respect, and most of all, we demand FUN!
So, rise up, fellow healers! Embrace the #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE with the fervor of a Scholar casting Succor. Let our voices be heard from Limsa Lominsa to Gridania. The dawn of Dawntrail must be a dawn for healers too. Together, we are stronger. Together, we are healers. Together, we shall strike!
And to those Warriors out there, soloing dungeons with the audacity of a primal on a caffeine binge, remember this: Without us, you’re just a lonely adventurer in a dungeon full of mobs. Enjoy your stroll, because when the real fight comes, you’ll be calling for a healer’s embrace.
Heal on, my friends. Heal on.
(Please note: This rallying cry is brought to you by the Guild of Healing Enthusiasts and Laughably Underappreciated Healers Anonymous. No actual gameplay was harmed in the making of this message. Mostly because we’re too busy striking.)
I seriously can't tell if this was AI written or not, or if it was intended to be satire.
"Moreover; in conclusion; it is concerning, it is essential, This can lead to an unsatisfactory experience," it all sounds like corporate professional speech that just doesn't sound like it's actually engaging with anyone else, more like an email lettered to an HR department.
Kudos if it's satire, I can't tell at this point.
#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
- An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
- Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
- Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
- Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.

Most of the solo instances are "doable" but since none of the healer kit is ever used, or any opportunity to use it is often tedious (Eg keeping the NPC's alive to fight rather than ignoring them like you would on a DPS.)
Honestly the fight(s) with Zenos (both on WHM, and SCH) are EXTREMELY tedious. I'm assuming that the fight on a tank is probably equally tedious, but likely far more survivable.
If I'm being honest, I do have a habit of treating the people I get queued with as "slightly more lively NPCs" because it's always randoms on whichever server I data traveled to where the extent of conversation is "hi" and "gg" from all of us and I imagine most of them don't think I'm much more than an NPC as well, I'm just the one going pew pew and making them go vrrrroom.
That isn't to say that people should be acting rude and such to each other or disregarding any concerns one might have for their role, but rather if there's any tanks and fellow DPS out there that think I hold them in higher esteem, well... lol.

It is equal parts heartening and ironic that everything that has been said here, I posted about in a thread over a year ago (which I have since reformatted in newer, separate threads for each healer). Healers should have DPS buttons, but not a DPS level rotation (ala melees, BLM, etc etc)? How about WHM being 'Dia is now 12s, Water added as a 15s CD GCD action'? How about SCH getting Miasma (24s) and Shadowflare (15s) back, and upgrading Energy Drain to Bane to aid in applying the DOTs in AOE? Healers should have their damage feed into their healing? How about WHM gets an actual Job Gauge (because the Lily one is so barebones it can afford to have something else), wherein casting damage or healing spells grants this new Gauge, and it allows you to spend 50 Gauge on a damage-neutral AOE heal, which refunds the damage you 'lost' by granting access to Quake, Flood and Tornado, to bring the elemental theme back to WHM somewhat? How about a simple trait for SCH, which reduces the enemy's autoattack potency per DOT applied? How about SGE gets a rework so that it actually delivers on the 'deal damage to heal allies' identity it is supposed to bring?
Time is a flat circle
Here's what ChatGPT has to say on the best course of action
The best course of action in response to community movements like #ffxivhealerstrike typically involves a few key steps:
1. **Listen and Understand**: Developers should actively listen to the concerns raised by the community. This involves reading feedback on forums, social media, and other channels where players express their views. Understanding the specific issues and frustrations is crucial before taking any action.

This includes acknowledging the issues, providing insights into their own perspectives and constraints, and discussing potential plans or timelines for addressing the concerns.
