    If they don't want to add DPS tools and they don't want to increase healing requirements, I question what they can even do with healers at that point? Perhaps it's time to retire the healer role and just give every group a Trust healer.

    If you want to be technical about it, they didn't actually nerf SCH, it's still one of the best healers in the game, it's just significantly less fun to play now. As for the not wanting to take away core aspects of the job, I'm starting to suspect that the devs think 'GCD shield' and 'GCD HoT' is the core aspect of shield healers and pure healers respectively.

    Personal opinions are personal opinions. Me? SCH is my favorite healer. It used to be a tie for me between SCH and WHM, but now it's a clear win for SCH. I have a lot of fun playing it with its current design.

    Hi, former career Scholar from day 1 ARR to the last day of Stomblood. Yes, Scholar’s DOTs were absolutely a core aspect of the job’s identity. It was a healer born from a DPS class, whose entire identity revolved around the balance of offense and healing, making choices with your Aetherflow, and your choice of faerie companion.

    Spamming Broil IV and Art of War II. So entertaining. Let's see how long that fun will last.
    Not to be toxic, but after a few years, I think it's safe to say that some playstyles do get stagnant. And scholar is one of them. Especially when you were used to more engaging and challenging fighting styles, just like ty_taurus mentioned.

    I'm sure they know how to address the problem, the real issue is the devs are absolutely lazy and/or new.

    It's easy to balance the jobs when they all play nearly identical (2-minute designs), and its easy to design boss fights around that as well (major boss mechanics taking place during that 2-minute buff window).

    Can't expect them to make healers fun to play if they refuse to make the gameplay enjoyable.

    You realize the two minute designs was because of feedback right? I'll quote from the interview:

    Yoshi-P: "But the reason it's like this today is that we've received, in the past, feedback from all over the world saying that the timing of fights were difficult, it was difficult to align skills between classes, we were asked to unify everything, and precisely because we received these requests to homogenize this, we homogenized it".

    Yoshi-P has also stated that there were things too difficult to implement into the game for various reasons, and then as soon as a plugin/mod was exposed, they miraculously managed to implement it.

    Take what Yoshi-P has to say with a grain of salt. Also "requests to homogenize" is a joke. Been playing MMOs for almost 25 years, no one ever asks Devs to homogenize gameplay, easily indicates that he is full of it.
