Ok so here's my thing there: own it.
Currently SE has been coy af about this. There's nothing explicitly in the ToS about it. There's been no official statement from them about it. The only thing you see is GMs cracking skulls... sometimes... if it gets reported... and it's a full moon on a Wednesday. There's no consistency in enforcement, probably because there's no actual rule being broken here. They just think it's icky and so they punish players for doing it. If they want to make an actual rule that says you can't do this, they have that right.. but they have to actually DO that.![]()
Thing is SE's actions show they are against it. I think it is time for those who want to do it own up to the fact that if you do it you run the risk of getting reported. Instead of complaining about it.Ok so here's my thing there: own it.

Exactly. If they didn't care, nothing would be happening. Nothing needs to be said. Everything is in the ToS, even what Callinon claims to be missing from the equation.
3.3 Profanity and Offensive Language. You may not use profanity or any language that a reasonable person would find offensive. The Game is for players aged 13 and older. You agree to behave accordingly.
Yes, ERP falls into this category as it would be considered profanity in the game's context. Any reasonable person would know that such things shouldn't be done publicly.

Here's a link to the ToS itself for those interested. Basically, It's SE's game. They can do whatever the heck they want with it.

Its a game for 13 yo and up,if you must sit there and j@$k off while playing,go do it on some 18 and over site.
This game is not rated M and this game's main audience is not NA/EU only, there is also CH KO and JP.
Many of Asian cultures protect minors and have zero tolerance of sexual potential in online gaming and they also have better laws to over watch internet than both NA/EU.
All other three regions already have well established frameworks about digital gaming, especially both CH and KO already have law in place to prosecute online hacks in game as crime.
People need to stop stay inside their little bubble and expect SE to pad on your head because you want to do ERP.
This kinda reminds of that time when Yoshi P was asked about ERP in game
https://www.cgmagonline.com/2018/11/...naoki-yoshida/Yoshida: First of all, there is a user agreement that all players have to agree to before they can even start playing Final Fantasy XIV. Within that user agreement is a clause that prohibits any unacceptable conduct to this end, including behavior that infringes upon laws. Any players who violate those rules will be punished by banning or other penalties. This applies no matter which end of the exchange a player is on. Everyone who plays Final Fantasy XIV is subject to investigation for violating the terms of service, period. Because Final Fantasy XIV is a worldwide game, there is the potential for players from many different regions to interact with one another, and we have legal support available to assist us in investigations to this end in many countries. If you see someone engaging in this type of behavior, we ask you to report it.

That feels like a stretch when the person being "offended" sought out that content for the express purpose of being offended by it.3.3 Profanity and Offensive Language. Maybe. My understanding from that statement was that Yoshi P was specifically talking about activities that would be illegal (such as sexual situations involving minors). ERP may be distasteful, but it isn't illegal anywhere as far as I know as long as you're keeping it above the age of consent.
And that's exactly what irks me when people start going toe-to-toe over this stuff. It's in a tab of the PF that is barely used outside selling Gil service for easy leveling or something, and those posts are few and far between. Everything else is already sorted by Raids, Dungeons, Leveling, and the stuff in Other NEVER shows up immediately when you open PF unless you INTENTIONALLY open the Other tab. Plus, even for places that don't word their advertisements as 18+ or M, you have people going to these venues and trolling or harassing people just wanting to RP because of a preconceived notion that all RP is bad, or some other nonsense. Is there sexual RP? Yes. Is it it illegal? Only if someone underage is involved, which if you're doing that then 100% shame on you, or if you're doing it in a public hub where no one has control of who they encounter because of how centralized they are and being a bother that way. But if people want to having consensual, responsible fun in private at a place no one is forcing you to go to, what's the big issue unless you go OUT OF YOUR WAY to go there and cause a fuss?

This post is hilariously disingenuous coming from someone who plays on Crystal and really should know better. And that's exactly what irks me when people start going toe-to-toe over this stuff. There's literally a post for rent-a-dom in the crystal PF right now, a long with advertisements for various other "bathhouses" and 18+ venues. If you open the All section of PF, which is the default tab, the rent-a-dom PF is right there lmao. There was a guy running around earlier shouting in cities about his hirable ERP bath bunnies the other day.
In the current state of the game, you will encounter this stuff constantly whether you want to or not. People are getting fed up with it, just like they are fed up with RMT. And that's not even diving into checking someone's search info mid-raid only to read a plain description of their genitalia lmao.
