I get it is an emotional response to protect children, and I am not saying that a child is all to blame for what happens to them, but I do feel they should be held responsible if they willfully lie and misguide an adult in some attempt to act like an adult then wants to be treated like a minor when consequences are baring down on them. Granted I am also coming from an emotional side, I get the reverse is true for the other side. While I feel having one who was genuinely misguided or in other cases wrongfully accused is one too many, I am sure many on the other side feel making it any harder on the children to come out and speak up is one too many. Though I do think we as a society would still function if we treated willful deception or lying from minor to adult in the same vain as we treat it from adult to child when it comes to sexual encounters.
