The rest of our groups are forcing us.
The opposition to this suggestion is just mind boggling, especially since it seems to be coming from people who have zero interest in even taking part in the content in question until weeks, if not months down the line.

Yeah. That's why I too started smoking in school... not. Giving in to peer pressure is your argument now?
We're taking part in the content, also on week 1. We're just not forcing us to clear it on the same week it is released. The opposition to this suggestion is just mind boggling, especially since it seems to be coming from people who have zero interest in even taking part in the content in question until weeks, if not months down the line.

What's peer pressure got to do with anything? I want to raid and I've progged with the same core group since Midas. The bottom line is that I get home from work and I have to skip my way through a ton of great storyline to make sure I'm not holding my group up. Just because I raid doesn't mean I'm not allowed to enjoy the storyline too. And yeah, in my eyes, forcing people to wait whilst I watch cutscenes isn't really acceptable even if they probably wouldn't be that bothered about it. That's just not how I roll.
Please cite your sources.
Or shall I go ask my FC for them?
The angles I see are: I want to be able to do the story, I want a more consistent window to book the time off work.
If you think world first raiders are suggesting that they don't want to put the effort in, then you don't know world first raiders.

Well:
Pretty much this. Especially the last part where you're actually feeling guilty about something you would otherwise enjoy (and have every right to) and deny yourself to it just to please your group.
That's pretty much the definition of peer pressure.

The pressure is every bit as much self inflicted as it is from the rest group, comparing it to smoking because of friends is just reaching. But then your entire contribution to this thread is little more than negativity against this subject for any given reason you can get your mits on despite the fact that it wouldn't even affect you in the slightest.
Truly sad. But go carry on as you will.

This isn't "peer pressure", it's called being considerate of other people's time and not wanting to inconvenience them, aka "not being a selfish asshole". With all the talk like "just find other like-minded people!" etc, I am seriously starting to wonder if some of the posters in this thread have any actual friends in this game at all. It's not always just about finding some convenient "NPCs" to kill content with and then dispose of once that's no longer ideal for you.
Inb4 "lol, you're being selfish by requesting this because it inconveniences me, lol" - yeah, nope. I am aware that delaying savage would not be ideal for people who just want this content asap and don't care about anything else and I have acknowledged that side in my first post. It is overall the matter of figuring out what does the majority of raiders(yes just raiders, bc srsly if you don't raid then what the heck are you even doing in this thread, it literally does not affect you in the slightest) want, hence the discussion.
Yes, some people have been rather dismissive of the "opposition", but that goes for both sides here.
So no, because... stereotypes? You literally have an entire thread of people saying that they might not be world first raiders, but would like a delay, right here. Assuming that hard-cores can't enjoy the story is also very silly. Why do you think this thread exists - so people can ask for something they don't even want?Hmmm. There is an argument to say that if you’re a world first type player, you’re not really gonna care about the raid story, you’re just going to want to dive right in to savage so you’ll just skip all cut scenes anyway and then go back and do msq after you’ve cleared them all. And in this case a delay might annoy you because you’re bored and have nothing to do until the next tier comes out and your main motivation is world first clears.
Everyone else probably won’t care about a delay because they won’t be in the world first bracket, therefore for them it’s like whatever, they’ll clear at some point.
I said that the priority for a hardcore raider is likely to be getting into savage ASAP, so they will likely skip the raid story, because every other hardcore raider will be doing the same because world first is a race right?
A delay would be nice, but there are other perspectives l.
