I would never turn to a psychiatrist ever. Especially not to "fit in with others".
When I was a child my parents were threatened by authorities who compelled them to take me to psychiatrists and force a bunch of medication and crap on me or they might lose custody. They had to do all kinds of humiliating stuff like apologizing for me in public and the medications ranged from schizophrenia drugs to strong antidepressant and nowadays banned medications that could cause sudden heart failures in some. All along, "society" thought my parents did it because they were ashamed of me since they didn't know school and social authorities used legal paragraphs to force them into accepting this.
To even suggest I should seek psychiatric "care" to "help change my behaviour" is one of the greatest insults imaginable. I hope to see the day when psychiatry is abolished and the people behind it and working in it severely punished by a legal system.
I'm much more midcore than hardcore but the problem with midcore groups in FFXIV is that they have even higher standards for who they cherrypick than others since they tend to want to be more elite than they are. Getting into them was imo harder than finding a hardcore group. It's where you will find the pseudo elitists but their level of skill/performance is easily matched by me. I would be contributing to a midcore group but they refuse to see it. That's why I ended up through nepotism in a much more hardcore group as the wrong role even. Since I couldn't find a midcore group.I feel like groups that are going for first week/world first clears don't care that much about feelings between each other. Maybe you're looking for a group in the wrong sector (midcore vs hardcore) if you're indeed as talented as you make yourself out to be and are having trouble finding a group with your same values. Or maybe wow is just the game for you.
