Lmao what? I've been knowing of this since yesterday, read the whole thread?
Why am I crying? I'm welcoming the change and want to see what he has planned.
White Knight by night, troll by day.
People cried for a way to easily cancel their casting... They got it... Now they cry some more. Sad world.
.
Every boss fight that I've seen, mages move the least. Once a safe, ideal position is found, the mage just stands there casting cures, and buffs. The only time the mage moves is when the boss moves into a new phase. Rinse, and repeat.
.
Why are people crying? Your lazy mage wasn't moving away.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29In due respect, I wasn't trolling. It might be hard for you to grasp but I was using a word... but that's ok typical forum goer. Anytime someone doesn't agree they are clearly a troll and belittling you, your ignorance fits in perfectly on the Internet! "How dare you use a word that (in my opinion) is belittling! TROLL!" But since you concede and I used the correct terminology, not sure why you went the extra mile to call me a troll.... must be because you're a troll (c wut eye dud thur?)
I'd put a positive spin on it... the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
With the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response.
I doubt your choice of words were not done with that intent.

So remind me, what exactly was so hard about reselecting the spell you were casting to manually cancel it?
People just assume mages stand there but you don't. Maybe some situations you'll stay still but a mage that never moved was a terrible mage. Don't understand the need for this change at all; all it'll do is slow down the gameplay speed for mage players and make reliable support more difficult. Not a fan.
Yoshida has made a post stating that he is writing up a long explanation about spell interruption upon movement.
We will give you guys an update as soon as he posts and we cast our translation magic!
Hi, this is Yoshida, the Producer/Director.
I would like to comment on spells being halted by moving while casting in patch 1.20.
We are still in the process of implementing and testing this spec, but I will provide an explanation on why this is being implemented soon, so please stay patient.
When a character is moved while casting a spell, the spell is instantly halted. Once the character stops moving and casts another spell, the new spell will be cast instantly.
(Although there will be a standard MMO lag of about 0.3 seconds)
We will set up a specific key for halting spells, so we did not implement this spec as a method of halting spells.
I am preparing a long explanation regarding this, so please hang on a bit longer.

This is fine. Playing mage will still be extremely boring.
Cast Cure, Take nap, Cast Cure again.
I hate playing mage. It was extremely boring. Now I have to stay still to cast? Great, I was doing that anyway.
EDIT: And WHAT HAPPEN TO MY SIG??
This is an issue with the client-server architecture that I've mentioned in many of my old posts. The game just seems to fucking drop packets all over the place and it has no clear way of telling you WHEN you're able to input the next skill due to animation locks. I've had FAR too many times to count where I hit a button to do a skill only for the button to not register, even though it was CLEARLY shown that my character was free and available to do the next skill (no animation lock or anything).I am glad to know that I am not the only one who finds the current "recast to cancel" thing not 100% reliable. Sometimes when I click to cancel my cast it does absolutely nothing at all. Could be lag, who knows. But it does not always work.
I do NOT want the slightest little wiggle to cancel my spell though... That would make me crazy. I would much rather movement increase the cast time.
If they fixed the issue with the shitty client-server architecture (which they said will be fixed A YEAR FROM NOW in 2.0) then hitting the same button to undo a cast would work. Or as many people have pointed out, just give us a fucking universal "cancel cast" button to stop it.![]()
