Correct, consumers do choose how well this creation does, not how it's created. The forums are for feedback, nothing more. The thing is giving our feedback and our opinion is all we can do for SE, it's still up to them weather or not they choose to listen. This is their project, their creation and they are the only people who can change it. Just because we are being allowed to give feedback does not mean it will be put into the game. That's where the issues arise because for some odd reason consumers feel the need to say things like "This game is doomed if they don't listen to us." just because their idea was overlooked or perhaps a bad idea to begin with. The developers are qualified to make those decisions and we as consumers, especially consumers who have no knowledge of the creative process and work that goes into every little change, really need to not be rude and abusive.1. The only reason these forums do exist is so that customers can provide feedback. They don't exist so game developers can offer pro bono advice to save FFXIV's bacon. They could be waiting a long time if that was the reason.
2. If a customer doesn't like something, as a gaming consumer, their opinion is perfectly valid and influential. If enough people don't like something or do like something, you can bet those concerns will be taken seriously. At the end of the day, it's consumers who decide whether this game lives or dies.
SE is listening, they don't have to act on every little thing though.
In any case I was mostly pointing out that the community does not have to be abusive to get their suggestions and feedback heard. Nor does anyone have to agree with them. Just as you and a few other posters in this thread disagree with me. Funny how I am not being abusive about it.
My statement is not false. They said they want our feedback and suggestions, they never said they would put them all into the game and I am certain they did not want the abuse that tends to come with every single suggestion on this forum. I am sure the developers and everyone at SE can handle people not being happy with every change they decide to make. That does not mean we should make it a crappy experience for them every time they read the forum. You couldn't pay me enough money in the world to re-create a product for people who say some of the rudest things I have seen in a long time. I never meant to say we as consumers have no right to say what we feel about the product, or the changes being made. I really meant is that not everyone is going to get 100% of what they want and for some reason we are under that delusion. It's not just one side insulting the other side, both sides have thrown their words around poorly. I want the game to succeed, and I fully agree that people voicing their opinions and ideas (properly) is what SE wanted. The current state of the forum is not that of people trying to help though, rather it feels like an old western feud between two families lol.Your statement contradicts itself. More importantly, what you are trying to say is false. Square has already said, "We were wrong, please stick around and help us make it right." NOT "You can have these forums but keep in mind we don't really care about your feedback. well fix this on our own."
Those of us who are still here are trying our best to do direct the Dev's into making a game that is successful worldwide, which is the goal stated by the Yoshi team.
If there is a reason that the Dev want to TAKE AWAY something that the community enjoys, Yoshi should have led with the reason so we could discuss it. He didn't. Because he did not state a reason or why there was no reason, I will guess that it is because he did not assume that movement while casting was something that was important to this community.
It is our job at that point, as those who have agreed to remain and help with reconstruction, to inform the Dev's (through these forums) that the planned action of removing movement while casting would seem to be detrimental to the games development.
This only become obnoxious when players begin insulting those who are trying to do what Square has requested of them.
My guess is that such players believe that Yoshi and the Dev team are like delicate children who need constant protection and can't face criticism. I promise you, they are not. Though know they have to get this right, and we should help in anyway we can.

Isn't this enough feedback to show I don't want movement to cancel spells.

I really feel like this thread was made way to early, try it out then complain..i understand official forums....consumers...feedback...etc but constructive criticism cant be made untill the actual content is released. It is all speculation without knowing the full extent of the overall changes. The dev team is trying to save this game they know the future of it better than anyone else, if their final decision was to remove casting and running its because the game will benefit from it overall. And im still kind of confused about the whole spell cancel to instant cast thing...please someone clarify because that mechanic is just as bad as casting and running if not worse...again only speculation at this point...but if it did work like that then consider CNJ godlike.
Please point out the part where I was abusive, or advocated abuse? In any case I was mostly pointing out that the community does not have to be abusive to get their suggestions and feedback heard. Nor does anyone have to agree with them. Just as you and a few other posters in this thread disagree with me. Funny how I am not being abusive about it.
I was politely defending a person who was told his opinion didn't matter because he wasn't a game developer. Then you stepped in to stop me and falsely implied that I was promoting abusing people to get one's opinion across. You have some nerve.

Nice to meet you Camata! Thanks for the clarification. I still believe it would be best to leave it as is and implement it in 2.0 since it should work flawlessly in 2.0Howdy!
Some of you may be thinking, who is this guy? Sorry for my lack of appearance on the FFXIV forums![]()
Just wanted to clarify something that Yoshi-P mentioned, which was incorrectly translated. I have already corrected the original post, but wanted to re-post it here for you all to see.
Apologies for the mix up!
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
