Plus it's the healers job to heal, not a tanks. We should be able to handle the damage thrown out. We shouldn't have to rely on others just to barely meet the healing requirements. Especially when you come accross tanks who refuse to assist you. We should be able to handle it without help.
o.O
The only self healing tanks have lost is Second Wind. Paladin still has Clemency while Warrior has Bloodbath and Equilibrium. At least as far as I've been. Give you have any links, do share please.![]()
FFXIV is about working as a team, not about selfishly pursuing our own parser numbers, no? The party as a whole should do whatever it takes to secure victory, which is why healers dps. Saying tanks shouldn't help healers heal is like saying healers shouldn't help dps dps. :3 It's just an arbitrary double standard~Plus it's the healers job to heal, not a tanks. we had exactly that at the start of 3.0. but then all the ASTs were whining that they couldn't heal as good as a WHM, they got buffed and what are they doing now? right: using the increased healing potency to stay longer in cleric since they don't even need that much healing power. i agree that the cards needed a buff, but the healing potency was fine. They don't hate White Mage. Unfortunately though, the devs don't balance around the meta and keep insisting on having a "pure healer" when even their most recent change to Cleric effectively makes all three hybrids. Now... a pure healer could actually work in this game if it were made stronger at its one specialty than its counterparts. If the devs balance around that philosophy finally, the healers may balance out.
New toon on the block here and looking at these changes I’m concerned about the future of WHM in progression raiding. While much is yet unknown, I have limited time between now and June 16 to accomplish my FF14 goals meaning I would need to adjust my in-game priorities should a switch to AST be advisable. Which leads to my questions:
- What was your Static's healing comp for A12S progression?
- What was the rationale for that choice?
At 3.0, Astro was trash but the buffs to its healing potency even before 3.4 helped give it an edge. People just stubbornly refused to play it until the mega buff. The devs now either need to commit to making Astro a hybrid or weakening its support or White Mage will be DoA.we had exactly that at the start of 3.0. but then all the ASTs were whining that they couldn't heal as good as a WHM, they got buffed and what are they doing now? right: using the increased healing potency to stay longer in cleric since they don't even need that much healing power. i agree that the cards needed a buff, but the healing potency was fine.
It depends largely on your goals. If you raid more casually and aren't concerned with a fast clear, White Mage will be fine. I know plenty of people who subbed in one for their groups. If you aim to kill Omega within the fight month or so, Astro made prog that much easier. Of course, this is based on Creator. If you are seriously considering swapping, I'd level both and see how things go. Savage doesn't drop for another month after Stormblood. We'll inevitably have people theorycrafting long before then.New toon on the block here and looking at these changes I’m concerned about the future of WHM in progression raiding. You have to understand. The "pure healer" identity dragged WHM through the dirt in 3.0. For them to come out and say WHM will continue it's healer identity is... Extremely worrying.
Okay lets not lie. AST only really became a thing in 3.4. WHM was still relevant a lot longer in 3.x than AST was. Stop being so dramatic. /hug <3
The other thing to consider is what happened to the Ast and Sch in the expansion. They both could have seen some tuning down thereby bringing the Whm up. It is just too early for all this doom and gloom.
