For a game that doesn't allow parcing, the fact that healers are even able to DPS during a fight means there are poor game design options happening. Either make it so that there is only one healer per party who can dps while this is happening, or make healers actually heal. This "healing class" has turned into a joke. We are poorly represented in the community and people don't like to play healers the same way that people don't like to play tanks.
Making healers more damage oriented isn't going to change the fact that less people are interested in the healing role, instead it will make people who actually enjoy healing like myself dislike it. As healing stands now it is a strong support role in classical terms, able to fully heal but essentially a DPS specifically late game. To be specific, this game has some of the worst healing mechanics of any I have seen and it is peaking right now at the worst it's ever been.
I know developers are going to try to fix it with the upcoming xpac. Let me tell you. I DON'T WANT A CHANCE TO DPS FROM THE HEALING NECESSITY/INTENSITY! This is how almost every other game heals. The healer role should not be a really bad dps class with indom and excog. It has gone so far into the meta that people are scared that the game may never recover from this poor playstyle, and not only that, people don't know how to even heal... ABOUT 70% OF PLAYERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO HEAL. Please expect that when the xpac drops if healers are going to be changed how everyone is saying... people are likely going to get yelled at because they don't know how to heal, it started to happen at the beginning of this expansion (SB) (I'm looking at you ms.yuki whm whats her name who has used regen twice in her life, and mr broil2 + indom combo sch pro where parcing DPS matters more than using adlo on a tank buster..? LOL)
