This. I've helped numerous people through T5, even complete strangers, and for free too.Did you even play endgame with these people ? I can speak from experience that most of the players that can easily clear T9 are actually nice people who are willing to endure their share of wipes while they and their static/guild learn the mechanics. They aren't demanding perfection, they are demanding that you show progress in learning the encounters. If anything, I've seen casuals and pugs be much harsher in their judgment of other people's skills
But again, good job at using a 10 years old stereotype. I bet you feel real clever.
Last week I invited a friend into my static despite her never clearing T8 and only T6+7 once. Why? Because she got those wins with pick up groups and is actually putting effort in to learning the fights and their mechanics. If you show you're trying, Most end game players have no issue in giving you a hand.
But what do I know, Apparently I'm a douchebag because I can clear content.
Old content is old content...honestly, I don't see why nerfing it is such a big deal. If anything beating an echoed t5, then an echoed t9 (yes echo helps with dps checks but it doesn't get players through t5 or 9 divebombs, or elementals, shriek, or ballistic missle), will prepare new players for t10 much, much better than I was when I started 1st coil in 2.0....as dungeons were extremely easy, with no mechanics, followed by coil, which was a drastic ramp up in difficulty.
You don't get the point. The point is about how thing eventually become. You do NOT want to newer players or newbies blocked on stuff forever. So you adjust content difficulty be it crafting, raids, or whatever else so it becomes accessible over time. This SE being really smart about the whole thing. People whine about stuff on the forums all the time, but SE has their own plan and they tune things based on the data they have.
Ridiculous why? People don't have the time that is fact. SE knows this fact their data bears that out. 7 months is NOT enough time, and certainly not enough for the newbie that liked the trial and gets the new subscription tomorrow, or the legacy player that played for 1 months and for whatever reason had to be away for a year, or people that chose to focus on other aspects and now wants to jump in with final coil. You don't get to dictate how they play. SE knows that. And they want to make things inclusive and accessible, with the new content (a.ka. final coil) being the new big goal for raiders.
That curve is maintained by new content. Old content being more accessible does not alter that fact.

That wasn't the point SHE was trying to make. Which is why you missed HER point.
Seriously. Punctuation.Key word Tone down how they implement that will be of course the echo buff also other mechanic on the side tone down and adjust as they deem fit just as they did with all the older content and the newer content untouched until next patch or expansion for the hardcore crowds.
Anyway I'm out of posts for the day. Peace out all.

I agree. And to add on what you said above, it's honestly just hardcore complainers that want content nerfed for them to the extreme. Probably the same people that complained about FFXI becoming too much for them to handle, they wanted everything nerfed. The sad thing about that, is they got their wish in FFXI with Abyssea, where everything was basically spoon fed to them, and they rejoiced for a short while, but then the game quickly crashed and died, and FFXI is so lackluster now its embarrassing.
They basically will soon be asking that ALL content become solo'able and if in a group, will require next to no mechanical coordination. Why??? Because they want the storyline and they want to feel cool and awesome and rob every other raider who enjoys CHALLENGING CONTENT and a sense of ACCOMPLISHMENT. They then also FALSELY PROCLAIM that 99% of the community consists of players who are stuck on Turn 5 and if they manage to pass Turn 5 somehow miraculously, then they have no chance in hell in clearing Turn 6 and beyond.
WHICH IN REALITY, it's more like 15% of the playerbase that put ZERO time and ZERO progression at anything, or are busy doing CRAFTING and expect from CRAFTING to be able to CLEAR COIL while they CRAFT and do OTHER THINGS in game. But they come on here, make the other 85% of the community who HAVE BEEN clearing coil and who HAVE BEEN working on RAIDING, they basically call us all a bunch of BULLIES for clearing things that they haven't WORKED ON and continue to call us ELITISTS simply because we work on clearing a RAID. They probably think we wipe ZERO times and learn ALL THE FIGHTS within 30 seconds, since they have no idea that it's a VIDEO GAME with /GASP: ACTUAL GAMEPLAY MECHANICS?! WHAT?!?!?!
Basically what they are saying is that, They DONT want a fun game with awesome gameplay, they want their content that they want, on demand, now and to hell with the rest of the community of actual gamers that enjoy PLAYING an Actual Video Game.
People need to realize that the -need- for a static party is going to end come 2.4 with the removal of the lockout. One of the big reasons that it is so hard to find a group right now is because of the lockout keeping people from helping others. Once removed I can pretty much guarantee that, just like when the lockout was removed from 1-5, there will be a much larger amount of players for both learning and kill groups popping up in the PF. Not only that but people will have a much easier time practicing the fights because they can queue for them via DF (hopefully solo) and simply pick whichever fight they are interested in learning.
At the end of the day we can't stop the echo, it's coming whether people like it or not and it still won't carry a group through without the requirement of learning mechanics. Personally, I don't want to see the actual mechanics removed/nerfed because in my opinion they are fun, intuitive and challenging. Nothing else in this game has mechanics quite as hard as coil and I feel like it's healthy for a game to have a good mix of easy/hard content. It gives players something to work on long term as well as something they can do in the short term in a more relaxed setting.

A few times a month we will help those in our FC that didn't clear T5 to get their clear. Heck, did that the day before Fan Festival for a dragoon. He was having a lot of trouble with it, so we got together and got him the clear.This. I've helped numerous people through T5, even complete strangers, and for free too.
