Is there a video where the guy says "Coil is suppose to be hard!"
xD I wonder if anyone laughed LOL.

That's completely avoiding the question of "What makes it hard, then?" For my T6 group, that's where everyone falls apart. So, there is a difficulty there. You can't say that there's not, because there they are--people dying and wiping the raid. Many people obviously find it too easy, though, so there's a disconnect between the people who are finding it difficult and people who don't.Chains should be broken before Bouquet even comes out, briars aren't really an issue because they're easy to run around.
All you have to worry about is the bee dealing damage to the person it's targeting, and even then it's only minimal autoattack damage.
Nothing you described is hard at all.
I've never been a part of the end-game scene of any MMO that I've played before FFXIV, so I'm wondering what raids have existed in the past that had the acceptable level of difficulty between "lolzfaceroll SCoB" and "Twisters are so unfair." That is, assuming that Twisters weren't also "lolzfaceroll;" I cleared T5 after the nerf, I wouldn't know the predominant mentality of the time.
Two versions of old coil... Legacy and Echoed. That would be nice. I'd love to see Legacy Amdapor Keep back.
A spattering of boos at a limited access event inside of a limited access event. That's the very definition of a vocal minority. Not, as many on the internet believe, "people whose opinions differ from mine."
"We're all different. But there's something kind of fantastic about that isn't there?"

I'll play the lore card. You have a calamity that has been alluded to throughout most if not the entire main storyline and yet the explanation to said calamity is tied to a raid the self-professed "hardcore" get to see in its entirety while the filthy dirty casuals get to never see it. Not a good outlook. Doubly so if you're a legacy player, since the whole mess is tied (somewhat) to your character from 1.0.Why do you want to nerf literally the ONLY DAMN content that is directed toward endgame players that is fun/challenging for us? There are so many other fights and things in this game perfectly accessible to casual people. (IE like...everything in the game besides 2nd/savage coil)
At least you're directing your ire at the right element in all of this, which is commendable after all the "lool u scrubz" from earlier in the thread. ARR should have had three difficulty setting for coil. Story, Normal, Savage. This was why I liked the idea of adding "storymode" versions of all the coil fights that allows everyone to witness the story aspect of it while also not having to hit content with a nerf bat.
Since they decided to not go by this approach, they went with the only alternative they have. No sense in designing and implementing a new difficulty tier (below the current one) for coil when it is relatively close to its end (2.4 being the end of coil and then the expansion coming out).
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
can we make a petition against echo for second coil please
Enough of the whining. Its gonna happen whether you High horsed Raiders like it or not.
thankfully coil will simply end one day
I don't like the idea of nerfing old content, mostly because I think it gives newer players and the people who haven't cleared them yet a big disadvantage. At least from my personal experience, I feel that challenging the old content before the echo, starting from the original relic fights, progressing through Coil 1 and the first extremes etc. has provided me and my group with, not only gear but more importantly a lot more understanding on the game mechanics and skill in playing our jobs. When the older content gets, well, old and nerfed, it will lose its progression value to the playerbase as a whole but also to the individual players who haven't beaten it yet. With nerfs, they will lose both the experience of the fight as it was, and most of what it could teach them. This is why I personally find it unfair towards the newer players and those older players who haven't beaten it yet.
When they add a new extreme fight, learning it will be probably much easier for our group than a group that has beaten all the previous ones with the echo. Some of those echo players will just smoothly sail through the nerfed content until they hit a wall, then wait for it to be nerfed before continuing, because they'll always find the new content so much more difficult than what they're used to doing (because they'll always miss those learning experiences).
Schedule limitations and problems finding a static are often used as an argument for nerfs, but they could also be used as an argument against them. At least I, if I wasn't in the lucky position of having a solid static group and having beaten all the current content (outside of Savage which we haven't even started), would hate to miss on the original experiences. Even in this position, I feel like I need to hurry to beat content before it gets nerfed. Yes, you can turn off the echo, but it's just not the same (although we've had non-echo runs in our FC/LS for the newer players who've wished for them and organised them). If you ask me, the ever raising item level is a nerf enough in itself.
In short: Just because some people progress in content slower than others doesn't mean they're not as good players or that they'd need extra nerfs. Clearing content in original difficulty gives players an advantage when facing the next hard content, and clearing everything nerfed will make the next hard content even harder.
