I'm totally agree with you Nemy. One of the most beautifull things in this game was the animations of walk and move in general, and I hope they maintain this animations on FF:ARR.
While there was a uniqueness to the lean that I enjoyed... I will gladly gut it with my staff and serve it on a plate to Extreme Ifrit myself if it means I'll be able to dodge his cracks without server delay.
If they can improve the animations without bringing back animation lock then that's fine. But the current animations are fine if it means no more animation lock.
I'd be pretty disappointed if they did end up not having those little detailed animations. Even though at first it made the game feel 'sluggish' to respond, to me (because I was used to unrealistically instant movement and response and such), I really grew to like it. It made the character feel a lot more real than in any other MMO I'd played. Since what I love best in MMOs is roleplaying (not necessarily with others, sometimes just in my head, thinking of what my character is like and what stories might happen to them), this is pretty important to me, and made me be fond of the game all the more, even with all its other flaws.
So yeah... If they really end up making 2.0 feel like every other MMO out there, that'll make me pretty unhappy.
Man I completely agree, removing this makes your character look like a puppet. Plus I agree with the fact that it does pull you away from your character. But yes this is only alpha and I hope this thread stays a live until they fix it. My lasting appeal lvl just went down lol
Prefer having a nice controll over my character instead of some stupid leaning, wich didnt look good in the first place.
Alas, if we can have better animations then the gamecon vid, but still maintain the fluidness it has, sure!
