    And right now the more pressing issue it's not the DPS kit, but the fact that we have almost nothing to heal and that our healing kit is just here for show.

    You think it's fine for them to fix one issue at a time, and you trust that they will do so because you don't think they can handle both at once.

    I think that they should put the effort into fixing both at once because it has been 6 years of healers being broken and a one-by-one fix is unacceptable at this point.

    We're not disagreeing on the end goal, just on the method to get there.

    Personally I'd like to have a better experience everywhere else in the game too, so I honestly prefer more dps tools over getting healing requirements properly balanced, if I could choose.

    As long as dps is king we'll try to replace supports with dps jobs when it becomes viable for farming, and since healing needs are the first things to get easier as item levels go up and healers have lower dps than tanks, it'll always be the first role to be on the chopping block.

    I do agree that we disagree on the "journey" because : look at the state of the jobs right now.
    Tanks are getting more OP has each patch. Some DPS have group heal, recovery boost and mit buff.... The healling is a total mess.

    Fixing heal doesn't just include Healer, but a lot of jobs. it's a factory they need to dismantle and rebuild....

    When for the DPS kit, for WHM and SCH they could just re-introduce old skills (which i doubt for SCH since it's really look like they don't want DoT anymore), for AST i don't know, never played it until EW, and they will need to buff up SGE kit.

    This is why, DPS kits can wait until they at last fixed Healing. it's the most "easy" part to do.... but if they do it first, well.... You can kiss goodbye to healer role as a whole.

    On top of DPS skills, we could also have things like gcd buffs and debuffs . Maybe? Possibly? I think they’d be fun lol. Not all DPS needs to come from personal damage, after all. Like Bravery or Protect, or Adloquium having a damage buff like in PvP. Cards back to rng form with Draw on gcd. A utopia!

    They could design Scholar/Astrologian around maintaining buffs over the duration of fights like Bard/Dancer, independently of 2-min of course. Plus they’d still have Stratagem / Divination for consistent 2-min window buffing. Then White Mage and Sage could go all-in on pure damage? Or maybe White Mage could be a little of everything with Sage as a dps specialist.

    Idk I feel like things like that that would just be more interesting than 4 different shades of dps healer. To me anyway. I mostly enjoy supporting / buffing the party…so I don’t really have a job I enjoy in ffxiv yet lol. Phys ranged has many, many issues that leave it very difficult to enjoy lol. Honestly 2-min meta really sucks a lot of the ‘fun’ out of ‘supportive jobs’. Astrologian is more ‘shiny power healer’ than ‘support’ buffer. Honestly I feel like I think more about buffs/support as a Scholar, since it’s primarily utility/defensive so you don’t just throw it at Mach speed at whichever DPS is number #2/3 on enmity list lol. Defensive cards are like, there I guess lol, but for some reason they just feel really lame to use.

    Just some of my thoughts on how they could ‘fix healers’. Well, for me anyway lol. It does seem like devs are catering to some bizarre, misguided feedback literally nobody agrees with. Maybe it was me this whole time!

    While I agree on the general idea of all healers being diversified and contributing differently so that more people have a playstyle they can enjoy, I absolutely disagree with SCH becoming a buff management job.

    I'm someone who played and enjoyed SCH because of their old jack-of-all-trades playstyle where they juggle multiple resources and timers and doing well requires you to keep up with everything going on at once. I'd be very unhappy if SCH was dumped into just a job that upkeep buffs and barely anything else, that sounds more like AST's niche and not what a battle tactician would do at all.

    This is the biggest question on my mind in recent days. Not 'how are you going to improve healers', but 'who, literally who, asked for this'. I want to know who the heck they're taking their feedback from, that led healers to the situation we're in now, and to kindly advise them to ignore that source of feedback for the rest of forever, because said feedback source hasn't the first clue about basic game design principles.     Like, who the heck asked for AST, the healer based on fortune telling, an act based on interpreting the randomness of drawing cards from a deck, to be made non-RNG? If I were to decide to go to a fortune teller at a carnival, I don't expect me AND the 5 people in front of me in the line to all get the Chariot, the Star and Temperance as our card draws, because it's meant to be random

    But the main reason I want to ask 'who asked for this' is because each and every day, I feel more and more like there is no feedback. If the answer to 'who asked for this' is 'the devs themselves, none of whom actually main a healer', then it goes a long way to explaining how we've ended up in this mess, where a Savage is cleared with no healers just 12 days after release, the Battle Tactician healer has ended up looking like a nun, and the Fortune Teller healer is somehow able to perfectly draw the exact same hand of cards they drew 2 minutes ago

    I wasn’t being sarcastic when I said ‘feedback* literally nobody agrees with’ lol, I am very much aware.

    That said, I obviously don’t mean ‘literally remove everything including dps from Scholar to make it a buffer’. That would require an entire job rework which is never happening. I just meant something like making Adloquium give a damage buff to incentivise uptime or something in addition to the other things (i.e dots debuffs Aetherflow heals energy drain)

    You took the wrong exemple
    i saw so many post on some many different platforme where people was asking for the RNG to be removed.
    Seriously, some google search will lead you to a ton of different post asking for that.

    But you will also find a lot asking for HW or SB version of the AST.

    In fact, the EW RNG was not really liked (mostly because Astrodyne was clearly hated), but older version of the AST was well liked.

    The thing is, in an MMORPG you kinda need some consistency... A class can't really be built on a % chance to be good.

    But the fix for that on AST would've been to make every card good instead of drawing a guaranteed set of cards.
    The old system where every card was a DPS buff, it was boring, but at least the cards were useful... On the current cards, The Arrow, The Ever and Lady of Crowns are basically useless. And on a Duty Finder group, you're not guaranteed to have both a melee and ranged, so you can only get half of the use out of Balance and Spear.
