This is probably one of the main reasons why devs look at this thread and go like " yeah never mind!"

They don't, the forum is mean't for the community to vent. It's some PR thing to make it look as if they cared.
In reality they are doing their thing and if we are not happy, thats the same thing.
In their opinion healers are fine, look at 7.2 patchnote, they are not scared of touching jobs.
They just really think it's fine as it is until at least 8.0.

And yet, ForsakenRoe DOES see a need to rehash.

People get assy with me for responding to their threads, when we get posts that essentially boil down to "this thread hasn't been bumped for four days, and that rustles my jimmies".

Endless, circular discussion and a thread that people have said all that they could think of to say and more, and more and more, and more.

And yet, if it's not on the front page, someone will strain hard to plop out a reason to bump it again.

It's annoying.

I mean isn’t that the way square enix wants us to treat the forums. Giant megathreads of people posting random thoughts about a topic that overrides all other threads. Like when was the last time you saw a dedicated healer thread that wasn’t just discussed in here. If anything by the way JP likes their forums organised we are being the least omnipresent role forum of all since all our criticism goes here so they can more easily ignore one thread than ignore 15

You're not wrong. It's clear from the forums general vibe that while they can tell an entertaining story, the devs seriously do not know and do not care to know how to balance the healers.

But that's really no different from every MMO for the last 25 years. There is always some voice loudly insisting that their specific niche of the game is so woefully underdeveloped that the people in charge of that aspect must have all been recruited from a Pizza Hutt dumpster raiding party.

And that 25 year thing, that's important for the context. Honestly.

We have been having these same, repetitive discussions for twenty *years* across enough electronic landscape to stretch to the moon, and yet some people really don't get tired of going back in for another whiff of that stale air.

I'm not trying to say discussions shouldn't happen, but my god man. Read the room. Drop your thought and let it be. If one thousand page megathread or a thousand three comment "I'm special too" threads on a subject are all being soundly ignored (in your opinion) then continuing to whine into a vacuum with no audience just makes you look stupid.

I understand what you are saying. I really do. Yet, I feel that giving up and going silent is worse.

Our audience is ourselves too. We are sharing our combined experiences and thoughts; and by doing so, remaining a community.

A MMO ignores its community at its own peril. It affects their bottom line. Many developers thought they knew better than their players. Their failed games litter the landscape.

One fix all healers need is more potency on their attacks.... But for other things...

I think fixing WHM doesn't really need all that many new additions...
Just make Sacred Sight (and by extension Glare 4) work like BRD's Hawk's Eye... That every time you cast a spell, you have a % chance to get to use a Glare 4, maybe even introduce the mechanic at a way earlier level by replacing Freecure.
Make Presence of Mind into a raidwide buff, and add an attack that spends Lilies (Can easily use Seraph Strike from PvP for that).

SGE, give them a raidwide buff that gives Direct Hit chance.

AST, make Lady of Crowns be an attack instead of essentially doing nothing and other cards could be made to always usable, because stuff like 10% more overhealing is so amazing.


For SCH, Seraphism probably should be replaced as it's completely out of place on SCH.

That got me. Brother, every day that I wake up and leave my warm happy bed, I feel stupid.

(And yes, the fairy should auto-summon, as should the Carbuncle. Make it a toggle for those who feel the act of summoning makes you a summoner.)

It's not entirely true to say they don't communicate though, they communicate through the action of endless buffs to tanks and content that does no damage, that communication is crystal clear. They just don't communicate with words.

Assuming that 4 upvote JP post is what was the basis of the noxious change there is zero chance you could have read that thread and not seen that that post was overwhelmingly unpopular even by JP “talk around the problem” customs
