    This^ It's a part that has been reiterated ad infinitum within the board.

    The amount of GCDs that each player can perform in a fight before the boss dies or enrage can be seen as a 'resource' that players have to choose where to spend them on. I.e. fight lasts for 10 minutes = that's a hard limit of 240 GCDs given to each players without accounting downtimes and shorter/longer recast GCDs.

    Going from that as a baseline, so let's say that the fights are set so that healers has to spend 20% of their GCDs on healing or somebody would drop dead NOT incl the usage of oGCDs, that still leaves them with 192 GCDs to allocate elsewhere. But where are we going to allocate them to besides our boring a$$ fillers when:
    • We're not allowed to have any buffs, debuffs or god forbid utilities to even maintain;
    • Resource management is nadir;
    • Mobility & uptime is hardly anything to worry about since 6.0 Trashologification;
    • The amount of mistakes another player can make are limited to the amount of mechanics the game vomits. This, in turn also limits the amount of 'safety heals' that a healer can meaningfully throw out.
    They can obviously ramp up the damage intake, sure. But how much can they go for that route solely before that starts to wall the lower end players that they're so afraid of doing for many years now? Is low HPS requirement an issue? Yes. Is that the only issue we have? Absolutely not.
