It's utterly baffling that they do this, and how they march in absolute lockstep. To a man, the status-quo defense brigade all think that healers should be the FF14 equivalent of letting the slow kid clap the erasers after class so he feels like he's doing something useful. "Can't give healers any complexity, because then people might die. Can't make healers necessary, because then people might die. Only DPSers and tanks can be trusted to clear, so they need to do the healer's job for them, because otherwise people might die."
