basically your talking about the healer abilities and casts in general cause they are technically the same with just 1 small diff which is hollow, is that your point?
Healers need a variety in both damage and healing.
We have 4 healers, there's no reason we can't have 4 unique healing styles and 4 unique damage styles. Arguing that "healers only heal" is what got us into the mess that ShB started and going in the opposite direction of "we should just do damage for 90% of the fight because that's what we're doing anyway" makes our presence replaceable by any DPS or tank that has healing attached to their kit.
Quite frankly, I do agree with getting rid of redundancies in the healing kit; why does WHM need 3 different versions of Cure II? Why does AST have 3 different AoE regens? There are definitely large parts of the kits that could be culled.
#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
Healers have been neglected for 3 expansions now and this needs to be rectified with the following:
- An engaging DPS kit beyond a nuke and DoT.
- Increased incoming damage so we have more to heal.
- Distinctive playstyles amongst the healers.
- Some nerfs to non-healer heals, we shouldn't be replaceable.
The point is if you have 6 spells with 6 different buttons that heal/regen or sheild single target this is a bad design
If you watch carefully to jobs like Viper and picto they use 6 different abilities in 1 or 2 buttons
That is modern design
Totally agree, just dont make 4 jobs the same make healing interestingHealers need a variety in both damage and healing.

Sage should have gone all in on a damage rotation, with off GCDs to apply temporary Kardia buffs to the party. That would have let AST keep their full identity as a flex healer, so they could lean hard into that aspect of their kit.Healers need a variety in both damage and healing.

I understand what you’re saying. It’s the issue we have mentioned before that there’s no real difference between each healer. Same skill but different icon and visual effect. I could play Whm and then pick up sch and have no problem healing something else because this button is the single target heal…and this is the small aoe…and this is the bigger aoe…and this is the field heal…and so on.
Outside of the VERY few buttons that aren't 1 to 1, my entire set of hotbars are identical. This is where my AoE goes, this is where my oGCD AoE goes... This is my single target oGCD... It's depressing.I understand what you’re saying. It’s the issue we have mentioned before that there’s no real difference between each healer. Same skill but different icon and visual effect. We as in the playerbase at large. People playing the game. Get out of here with this nonsense you know what i meant. The strike was initially supposed to affect queue times. Then it slid down into 'affect the behind the scenes metrics.' Now people are celebrating because 'people are talking about it.'
The goal posts have shifted so much they can claim this strike was a success regardless of whether it actually happens. Even regardless of if there is even an actual tangible strike and not just a few anecdotes of people dropping healer! They get to just say the win no matter what, regardless of if any changes actually happen.
That is not a strike. That's just giving feedback on the forums. Calling it a strike is dramatic clickbait nonsense and deserves to be called out when there's no actual tangible strike. Strikes are disruptive. This is just another long lasting thread like the viera hat one, except they didn't call theirs a 'strike.'
Strikes don't always have immediate results but they are by nature disruptive. This isn't, and that's the point. This isn't a strike. It lacks the disruption, the scale to actually affect anything. It's only called a strike because that's a nice attention grabbing headline but in execution it's not. And conveniently, they get to claim 'victory' because people talked about it, even though there's been no mention of changes, much of people talking about it are mocking them, and their strike has failed to even be a blip on the radar of the average person playing the game.
If they managed to actually turn this into a real strike, or just made this 'healer feedback thread' that'd be one thing, but if they're going to call it a strike and, predictably, fail to back that up the whole idea is going to get well deserved mockery from outside the echo chamber here.
This is no more a strike than you and your 4 friends not shopping at <Big Store Name> is not a 'boycott' in any meaningful way.
In one of the new dungeons we get alisaie as redmage healer and I was legit jealous. Her powerful vercure and vermedica variants on top of a basic redmage core sound way more fun than glare spam and superpowered oGCDs.
