This argument feels like desperation...the people undermining our strike are actually supporting it! Nope, they're undermining it. The entire stated purpose of the strike is to pressure SE into making changes to the healer role. If other people simply swoop in and take the spots of those who go on "strike," then SE has no reason to change anything. Plain and simple. At the end of the day, success or failure of the "strike" is determined by whether it leads to SE making any meaningful changes to healers and healing. Those who haven't been healers previously that slide into that role now are directly detrimental to the strike.

You're grossly missing the point of the strike. The point of the strike is very simple: We don't want to play the healers as they currently are anymore.

Whether the strike impacts metrics and the dev team decides to make changes or other people play the job we dislike for us and we get a smooth switch over to tank/DPS with quicker queues from these new healers, we win either way.

There is no losing here. You may not be supporting the strike by queueing as a healer, but you are making it more comfy for an ex-healer to main a different role by taking their place as the cog in the wheel.

So I hope you continue having fun as a healer so I can continue to have fast DPS queues, thank you for your service.

PCT is fantastically well designed class (so well designed I’m surprised it’s in modern 14)

Why would I set there a waste my time spamming 1111111 and letting someone else play PCT when i just let the contrarians do the boring as hell healer and let me play PCT

It's mind-boggling that people would participate in the strike without even knowing what it's about. The entire goal is to encourage the dev team to make fundamental changes to the game. Unless, of course, that's all a sham and the real reason is to just make yourselves the center of attention when you could just as easily simply choose not to play a healer role?

I don't see it as a "cog in the wheel" or a "service". Straight up - I enjoy healing in this game. (For the record, I've always considered myself a DPS/RDM main, but most of the time I'm queuing for roulettes it's always been as a healer.)

The whole "strike" thing comes off as a diva complex to me, with people wanting to be the center of attention, blatantly insulting the developers for daring to make their game the way they choose, ganging up on anyone here who opposes them...it is kinda nice karma seeing the whole thing fall flat.

Glad to hear you're having a lot of fun with PCT! I think this comment I'm quoting sums up a fair part of the issue - look at how dismissive and condescending the rest of it is, trying to objectively declare a different role "boring as hell" that people can play "for whatever reason". It would go a long way for those supporting the strike to simply acknowledge their take is their own personal opinion, rather than having to attack or insult anyone who dares to have fun playing a healer.

Hard for me to tell if the queues are because of the strike or because its Dynamis and we are trapped. Still supporting you guys though.

The queues have nothing to do with the "strike." We have an expansion that just started with 2 new DPS roles that a ton of people are playing. The last time SE released 2 DPS roles, there wasn't a strike, and there's posts someone dug up the other day showing that several months into that expansion, queues were still excessive for DPS.

I don't see it written anywhere that what's written is the only goal?

It would be nice if the dev team took notice and changed healers back to something I enjoyed more in older expansions, but if they don't care to, it doesn't matter to a lot of us as long as people who want to spite us are more than willing to take our places, because I and many others have long since given up on the role, we just need someone else to take our place.

You may think you're harming us, but you're actually making it easier for us to quit the role. I don't know about anyone else, but I only play healer after they ruined it for me because no one else wants to, so if you and those like-minded are suddenly happy to main healers? Great! Go for it, you have my support. I no longer have to play that dumpster fire of a role.

I am honestly so positively surprised by picto. It's rotation is really fun and unique. I spend a lot of time just trying things out, finding what I think is a very good/optimal rotation etc. Analysing it was so fun and refreshing.

I am honestly so positively surprised by picto. It's rotation is really fun and unique. I spend a lot of time just trying things out, finding what I think is a very good/optimal rotation etc. Analysing it was so fun and refreshing.

The best part about Picto is that, other than the burst window and keeping some stuff on cd, there's no rotation. You can mix and match to suit what's needed.
It's actually a lot like a light version of EW BLM- like, a bit more flexible and easier because you have no dot to manage and no Polyglot clock/AF timer, but it actually is quite enjoyable to play as.
So yea, try that instead of playing healer

The decision to allow you to paint whenever you want but only have the CD’s attached to actually casting the muses was a fantastic decision

So like any downtime in the two minutes between 2 starry muse casts you can render the painting, there is no restriction

It’s easily the best designed part of PCT
