Healers are always seen as doormats.. Even in most games, a healer is mostly a slave account.
It's more helpful to explain why you think that way.
(Theun) A Rant on Healing in The War Within
I'd HEAVILY caution healers to be wary of asking for significant increases to difficulty. WoW has the opposite problem of FF14; there's too much healing to be done.
That isn’t what’s being asked forIt's more helpful to explain why you think that way.

Healers simply want their jobs to be as engaging as the other roles
We aren’t looking to block out casual healers with savage healing in dungeons, we know raising the floor makes people quit, we just want the ceiling and level of engagement to go up
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Ig u never heard of Alts b4 k lol
Uh. Y'all can look at my profile but it's not accurate cuz it's not my main. Just gonna throw that out there since some ppl ig mad and stalked my profile to try to invalidate what I said lolMind being a bit more specific on "these complaints"?
Are you seeing something in the DPS rotations of healers that everyone else isn't?
Are you having a fun and engaging time healing in casual content with max level tanks?
Are you sure you've played all jobs when your "main" is level 70?
No shame, but if you only recently resubbed, and the last time you played was Stormblood, that's fine. I'd just like to know.
Edit: that was weird. in the time it took to write this reply, you've fantasia'd, and leveled Dark Knight two levels.
Casual content isn't hard for anyone. It's mutually mind numbing for all of us. I'm a tank main but I've played the healers to 90 and often role switch for faster queues cuz i dont care. Savage and ult tho, whole different ball park. Healers arugably have the hardest job. Don't get me started on aai which I'm afraid to touch lol
The homogenisation kinda sucks but I get why they did it. It's so ppl can focus on harder more engaging content- which was initially the aim in early EW but too many ppl complained game too hard. Thats why expert and 90 roulette are mind numbing in comparison to the other roulettes. Devs already admitted they made standard content in EW too easy and that's a universal issue. The vibe I'm getting from the rest of these complaints tho is healers just mad they don't get to sit on a high horse all day and meme about who lives or dies in sastasha anymore lol
I understand only a small fraction of playerbase does savage/ult but I think it's really obtuse to focus job/role balance on casual content lol
I mean strike if u want, if u dont like healing then dont heal, its prob not for you anymore. But I'll adjust and play healer, bc I like fast queues and most ppl I play with are the same so
"Fine, if you won't heal then I will!" - Player who's probably gonna go right back to DPS/tank in a week or two at most.
Okay so few points hereUh. Y'all can look at my profile but it's not accurate cuz it's not my main. Just gonna throw that out there since some ppl ig mad and stalked my profile to try to invalidate what I said lol

1) casual content is equally mindless for all roles but when the content barely asks you to do your own role healers are uniquely left with functionally nothing to do. DPS get their rotations and tanks get a combo of their simplified rotations and their mitigation; which even if it’s not needed doesn’t mean that it’s pointless to press. This is actually a benefit of the shield healers as they are the same, sure sacred soil isn’t needed but it’s still a benefit to press, regen healers have near nothing on this front. Healers as a whole meanwhile get 12111111111111. We don’t healing in casual content made harder we simply want the same engagement the other roles get out of casual content
2) in high end content your job is still overwhelmingly broil spam and you have far less responsibility than you imagine because every mechanic these days is a group mitigation check followed by a body check. So you basically just throw out your mitigation, hope the rest of the party does as well then go back to mindless broil spam and watch your single target heals rot away because if someone dies we are all getting body checked
3) as for your point about “healers wanting to be the arbiters of the other roles survival” that’s not even close to the point, we just want to feel useful and powerful like the other roles get to in content

It's funny how many people insist that the simplification and homogenisation was absolutely necessary for people to be able to focus on harder content.
Acting like no one ever cleared a savage in Heavensward or Stormblood.
The reduction in difficulty in the name of accessibility from Shadowbringers onwards was absolutely unnecessary, people managed to clear content just fine back then and a lot of the clunk from Heavensward was removed in Stormblood, there was zero reason to go further with it.
