But seeing how people keep bringing up that SE has ignored feedback for years just makes me think in different directions.
And one of those, the 'worse case scenario' I suppose for Healers in general, is that SE just don't see those feedback as needed changes.
That just maybe FFXIV is constructed in a way that everyone should be able to play every job without the fear or worry of getting alienated if they mess something up, so they are designing them to be super-easy to use for most/all content.
Games that share the same original genre can all play differently when it comes to difficulties, playstyles and so on.
So maybe FFXIV is just one on the easier side of them all.
And perhaps that's why Yoshi said that if people want to experience more challenge they should play savage/ultimate, since they are for those who wants to get away from the (super)casual content.
Like if 111113111111 is giving you heart palpitations then PCT is going to eat you alive
Why are healers uniquely “dummified” compared to the other roles
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Idunno.. I didn't make them.
But as I've talked about earlier a couple of times, is that to me the Healers toolkit is designed around fights going bad.
But since the combat is so scripted and everythings more or less marked out, it leaves very little for errors to happen in a fight.
So there's little to nothing for a healer to use said toolkit on.
Regardless it's there for those cases it 'might' be needed.
Healers years ago complained that they didn't want to DPS, so (I guess) SE reduced the attacks healers had to appease the Healer population.
But without any challenging combat there's not much to use the healings that is left.
