    There are a lot of ideas floating around but the only one I've seen that is directly contradictory is the tank sustain argument,

    "heal more" vs "more interesting damage rotation" aren't contradictory for instance, I'd argue we need both actually, even "I actually like the GCD nuke" can easily be integrated with one of the four healers instead of making all four the same.

    This is actually the compromise many healers from both sides have arrived at. When I was shown some of the graphs exhibiting just how much time was spent spamming one skill even in savage, it immediately dawned on me that having even just one additional GCD skill to use towards damage, such as a follow up, would cut that figure right in half. And that's me. Not a game designer. Not a savage runner. Yet the dev's solution to adding an additional skill was to lock it behind a two minute ability. It is unfathomable to me how anyone can be so set to keep healers right where they're at and be perplexed that the house of cards finally came crumbling down.
