There is a difference in planning, remembering and executing your rotation while doing mechanics.
On NIN I do my first mudra, activate my buffs, do various mudras that demand quick execution and certain conditions (don't move during Ten Chi Jin, no weapon skills before Raiju --> can't just randomly smash buttons) while weaving in OCDs to squeeze them all into my buff window while potentially having to dodge mechs (risk of running out of the enemy's range, losing time in my buff window --> awareness of rotation and environment at the same time), then keeping an eye on my buff CD (and some attack skill CDs to see whether they align or I missed my timing during my first burst window) for my mini burst while attacking and preparing my mudra that's a buff prerequisite, executing my mini burst window as detailed above albeit with a bit fewer skills, then keeping an eye on my buff/skill CDs for the big burst so I can execute it on time, all while keeping an eye on my huton (though this is becoming obsolete soon).
On BLM I .....ok I'm too lazy to type all that out.
And that is just my unoptimised casual game play.
On AST I press 1.
And every 30 seconds I press 2.

I support the FFXIV devs making healers more fun; I don't support healers going on "strike" to make a point. Submit a suggestion, make a forum post, but going on "strike" just seems cringe.
We have. For years. You can see tons of suggestions and forum posts here about the same issues. None of this impacted healer design in 7.0.
Would rather do something "cringe" than continue to only do something that has proven quite thoroughly to provide no results.
I would say since shadowbringers introduction the healer role has been too easily removed from groups and the players have been left with little chance to play to their class fantasy. We are not damage dealers but a majority of our time is spent hitting dps. Hence all the complaints about a boring dps rotation because in most content we need not stress ourselves doing much else. I love the changes my astro got, I'd just love if the encounters made me more integral to the team.
SE have conditioned healers over several years now to not bother healing due to the lack of challenge in the content. If the expectation of healers must heal is applied consistently you will see fewer instances of people with their brains totally off spamming 1. And if they ever make a change, sure, we will certainly have an initial period of conflict from certain players not adapting to the change, it is for the community to check those people and remind them their role within the team. In places where healing is relevant I don't hesistate to kick a glare spamming WHM from the group. If the role is treated and expected to play as a healer the players will act accordingly in due time.
The role is very approachable, when I was new in STB I started healing with WHM and when I got to heavensward I fell in love with astro. Healing on stormblood astro was some of the most fun I had in all content. It didn't matter if I was playing alone without friends for extra fun, I had a job that felt engaging, enjoyable and much more needed than it is now.

And more importantly, let's hope that if they do decide on something, that we don't have to wait until DT is over to do it.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
None of my Characters will be playing Healer this Expansion until I feel like leveling them to 100 and that is specifically through trusts. I want to feel like we matter. And right now watching people clear ults and 24 man without a healer is very telling.Trying to explain the healer role's issues to the general community has been an exercise in frustration. Therefore, I will choose to adopt a "show, don't tell" method starting in DT.
I will start playing tank more often and invalidate as many healers as I can and make all of them as bored as possible so they intimately understand what the issues of the healer role are.
In case it's not clear by now, we know there is a chance that this may impact dps queue times. It's not a lack of understanding, it's just not our job to fix other people's queue times by playing a poorly designed role. The dps players can play as a healer, sit in queue, use duty support, leave feedback about long queue times or make a premade. Up to them.People have pointed out the dps ques will get longer. And those healer quiting healing response is too join the dps players and suffer, not understanding they would be adding to the problem. More dps higher que times for all dps common logic. I want healers changed but I am not going to do something that will burden dps with higher que times.
Or maybe this won't impact queue times at all. Whatever, it still worked. There are already content creators reacting to the strike and even JP players are talking about it. It took threats of longer queue times for people to actually care, so I'm not sorry for any inconvenience that could be caused by this.

Fair enough. I just returned to the game after a long break and I know the general consensus was healers were a bit fed up with the Healer Role in general but this thread is...wow lol.
