Not dev I don't think (community staff more?) but I remember in the most recent Live Letter Yoshi-P commented that Foxclon was a white mage main.To be fair, I really wish Yoshi-P had mained any healer for a couple of months and actually done content with it. I wonder if that would change his perception of healers from "they're fine" to "dang this is actually boring"? I recall someone on the dev team maining WHM (it was mentioned during one of the live letters but I don't remember whether it was this recent or previous one), but I don't think they do healer on a constant basis. If they did, things would've probably been a tad different perhaps.
How do you know they haven't picked up healer already?here's the thing. we're going on 6 years of bad healer gameplay, and healers BLEEDING numbers slowly and steadily throughout those years.
if people actually wanted to pick up healer, at this point, they would have.
there was a tiny jump in EW with sage, that rapidly declined. farther down than pre-ew numbers.
If enough people thought healers were fine enough to play healer themselves, they already would be.
but there's not.
the gameplay isn't fun, there's no incentive to play them (ex- tank specific mounts & titles), and i really TRULY doubt that anyone who already didn't want to play a healer will suddenly want to play healer.
we've had healer instant queues for SIX YEARS. If SAM mains wanted to try healer, they could have. and might have. and didn't stick with it.
we've had this dialogue ongoing for years, on the forums, on other sites, in game... for over half a decade now. nobody plays healer who doesn't want to play a healer.
i don't think dps mains will put their money where your mouth is.
An estimated 24% of players have A Life of Adventure V completed, according to FFXIV Collect.
38% have a level 90 AST.
44% have a level 90 SGE.
46% have a level 90 CNJ (WHM).
51% have a level 90 ACN (SMN/SCH).
If it comes to making a choice between sitting around doing nothing because there aren't enough healers and switching to a healer job so they can get content done, most will probably pick playing healer so their time isn't being wasted. Assuming they don't have a solid group of friends that don't even need a healer to clear dungeons, of course.
Self interest is going to win out over someone else's problem when it's just a game. But they're also going to remember you were trying to make problems for them when you choose to be very vocal and public about it.

Yes because of things like this:
Don't really trust most of them considering Xeno is one of the problem characters. Guy has been complaining about anything that doesn't let him just unga bunga on WAR for ages. People like him are the reason why we have large hitboxes, Fell Cleave on all tanks, etc.
Please stop using the nebulous "they" when you're talking about yourself. You're great at concern trolling though I'll give you that. Sure love to hide behind third person pronouns for your own spiteful opinions. Literally no one is taking this so seriously they are "remembering" the healers' strike, like lmao, for what? For some later path of vengeance?? No one thinks like this other than you.

Some people have already said things, so I'll keep it brief. Most recent log show are sage with 13 gcds in P12S phase 2. (This is also a very um-optimized amount) Their dosis cast were 135 along with 16 Eu Dosis, 13 phlegmas, 13 toxicons and 3 pneuma. So... the amount of dps gcds exceeded healing gcds by more than 10x
I just want some competent job design along with a mild difficulty curve. Asking for more seems to much right now.

More people disliked HW healer than current healer.
Remember the strike back in ShB because only 1 dps button? Yep nothing changed.
Most healer are casual who are happy if nobody dies even if warrior self healing helped more than they did.
Most healer are casual who are glad them dieing by failing a mechanic doesn't always lead to wipe and most people are also glad they didn't wipe because someone else mistake.
It doesn't matter how much page this thread has. It doesn't matter how much CC are capitalizing on your strike because they don't have anything better to show their viewer. Because you can't compromise since what you want and what they want is mutually exclusive.
You can accept it and either keep playing healer the way it is, move on to another game that suits you better or try dps/tank.
bless your heart. How do you know they haven't picked up healer already?

sweet pea, if you PERSONALLY stick out maining a healing class (of your choice) throughout dawntrail and the 7.x patches just to spite me specifically, i will applaud you. because that'd be really cute tbh. and trust me, if i wanted to be rude, i would be.
girliepop, what do you think them flattening healers' toolkits was in shb? that was an attempt to increase healer numbers. that uh. didn't really work out for them so well.If healer were leaving/stop playing healer as much as you think SE would have done something already.

and look. i just wanna have fun in a game, princess. healers being boring as sittin in a church service isn't fun for me. i'm glad you're having fun. i hope you are! i hope you love the game and that it never stops being fun for you.
shouldn't you want other people to be able to enjoy the game too?
or does other people also being able to have fun take away yours?
Do we not get to choose the role we play? How about this then, I am NOT a healer main starting the 14th nor am I queuing for a job I find BORING. I am now becoming one of the "them", scary~~~ Oh wellz, IF the queues are largely sees a large impact, I will be in the boat the all of "them".How do you know they haven't picked up healer already?

I mean really, we ALL get the jobs to choose from. Why are we the crazy ones for choosing something else and going to the forums to voice opinions/find like minds when that is where we are directed? It's not a "them", its not an "us". This is players talking about a role. We are WoL's that are tired of healing. Like it or don't, that is what this is. If it dies, then it dies and we all move to something we have fun with. If it lives, then it lives for reasons that the player base came together because we have a like mind.
Thanks for the laughs though. Between this person's posts and and a couple others, I now get some funny reading material.
Literally no one is going to respond to a healer strike by taking up healing except a handful of haters.
In fact, I suspect that if the message grows, more players will directly or subconsciously avoid healing. As I've said before, many ITT are underestimating people who are currently passively tolerating something that they know is both broken and boring for a significant amount of content in this game.
That's why strikes are so nice..because someone unmotivated hears it and says "You know what? F this". Which is great. We need more of that in this game.

or like... maybe make one healer that will appeal to a certain kind of player, and another healer that would appeal to another and so on and so forth. They have 4 healers. Make one play like HW another like SB, and another like ShB and everyone is happy. If healer were leaving/stop playing healer as much as you think SE would have done something already.
