ShB is short for Shadowbringers 5.0
SB is Stormblood. 4.0
ARR A realm reborn. 2.0
HW Heavensward. 3.0
EW Endwalker 6.0.
Just pointing that out. In case anybody is not familiar with the shortenings of the expansions.
You're right.
I expressed my opinions in a wrong way. What I meant to say is not every causal player is happy about current healer gameplay.
I, for one, don't feel the same level of resentment as many others in high end content as healers. However, healer gameplay experience in causal contents is insufferable. Even causal players complained about it.
Anyway, I already started a psuedo-healer strike since ShB by always queuing as tanks and leaving healers behind. I always flex my tank power when sprout healers are forced to watch me spend 8 minutes soloing the boss and get clears as they lie cold on the floor.
Healers have been pretty much neglected since Stormblood, SCH is probably the best designed healer currently and they're butchering it's identity with Seraph which is definitely not a good look.
Sigh, wrote too fast - I meant Stormblood. Thx (the "new healer" is quite weird as well, since I've been on this game for a few years now, but apparently you understood my point despite all this)
I don't heal much but before my access to these forums goes away...
They had notice of healers needing more to do at least as early as Shadowbringers. The entire community was practically issuing ultimatums when Endwalker released.
That they have had over two years to do SOMETHING and the most they can do is give Sage a few extra DPS tools is painfully out of touch. Scholar didn't need a hideous heal-more transformation. Astrologian didn't need its RNG shafted for more impotent single-target buffs. I honestly don't even know or care what they did to White Mage, it's only been blinding white sparkles for years.
I know they have been dedicating resources to single player viability and now graphics, but job fantasies are the foundations of any good game. They all should be receiving due care EVERY expansion, not just the new jobs. No excuses.
In dungeon, in farmparties, in many trials, in allianceraids, in deep dungeons, in treasure hunting players don't want a healer and want a dps instead. So I gonna be DPS and no healer anymore.
#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
That's pretty much a lie.The "healers should heal" faction keps forgetting this is a 11 year old (14 if you count 1.0) game.
We HAD more Dps tools.
We HAD more incoming damage.
We HAD more engaging content for healers.
We had some issues too back then (balance, useless job gauges, incredibly tight dps checks, over the top aggro interactions with overheal, clunky cleric stance activation/deactivation) , but at least the healing jobs had more interesting things to do.
The devs justified the massive pruning of our skills in ShB, saying it would be a baseline to rebuild our kits.
That was a lie. We got our filler tools taken away and replaced with nothing.
We got our healing time taken away and replaced with nothing.
Veteran healers want their engaging gameplay back.
Since ARR people complained for years about" I'm a healer, stop asking for DPS, remove cleric stance asap, I'm struggling with Anxiety, DPS? Sorry I'm a healer"
Now that SE listened people will always complain no matter what.
Could do worse, join in as a healer, and never cast a heal. Not even a oGCD one. Be just a less effective DPS as the devs intended.
Well, I'm nobody, but as a WHM main since Stormblood I won't play it.
I'm even leveling WAR in order to solo everything and try to make the healer feeling useless.
No it isn't. Check the healer thread on this forum.
