Have a large now, but for over a year I just had a small. I felt cramped, but I wasn't half the designer I am now. I see smalls that do amazing things with floating. They feel more like compact mediums than little cottages.

Unfortunately, it's the system you support that places you in the position of finding it next to impossible to get a large. Even if SE were to move to dynamic ward system, I doubt what they would do add wards based on a specific size not being available. Not every player wants a large but I'm certain that a clear majority would if it were easier to obtain one. That would move the number of wards needed per world from dozens to over a thousand considering the current ward layouts.

But let's assume for a moment they did. Every time all large plots sold out, SE would add new wards. Would being in a ward/sub-division with only 3 large plots, a couple of mediums and no smalls occupied give you that neighborhood feeling you're looking for? Or would it quickly get boring as you stand in your yard looking out over all the empty plots and there's never any other players around?

I wouldn't say that everything they have done to update housing over the years has been a joke, but it definitely has not been sufficient to meet player demand. I sometimes wonder if they judge housing status based on just the JP worlds, ignoring that NA and EU worlds have larger player populations.

Out of curiosity, what are your feelings on Housing Mirage (assuming it gets implemented at some point in Dawntrail)? Would getting a large interior with a small or medium plot satisfy your desire for a large, or is the large plot itself also part of what you want?

100% satisfied. I don't care about the prestige or e-peen of having a large. I literally just want the large vertical space to build into (smalls and mediums both have have the same exact interior height; some of us use all of the decorations on 1 floor). It would be cool to have the fun and unique large exteriors but I also prefer LB and all of the large exteriors there face sideways anyway. I literally just want to decorate a large interior while living in a neighborhood. I am sitting here waiting for ANY UPDATE on the mirage system. They said they are looking into it but we still don't know if they can even do it.

Umms, Mao mights be mistakings what Kali tryings to say and if so Mao apologizes, but Mao pretty sure mediums not same as smalls for interior height. Smalls has main floor and basement while mediums and larges has upstairs, main floor and basement.

She's referring to the 2-story open-air vertical space in the large foyer. No other house layout has that much uninterrupted vertical space to build into. If you go on housingsnap and search "Tower" you'll see that every tower design is a large by necessity.

I have said this so many times, once something becomes common, people dont care anymore, just like apartments, they are just unused and no one cares about them, if you gave everyone a large, people just wouldnt care anymore, but just like with lottery back then "lottery will fix housing, it will remove multiowners, bots and people selling and finally i'll be able to get a large !!" thats what people asked for, and what people got, now we have even more bids than before and less chances to get houses.

This community literally shouldnt be listened to, at least the ones that dont care about housing, they have no clue what they are talking about, if you give Shiro 60's instanced house to everyone, S60 becomes worthless, it'll be like having a small house, and it will get ignored after a while.

Also people are already lonely enough in the game, not everyone has millions of friends, lets not put people in dead instances with nobody around them and fake houses, if you want that, play a different game, FFXIV is based on ward housing, period.






In what world did people go back to the island because of outside furnitures ? People decorated it and then never went back to it again, whoa what a feat



Someone doesnt know anything about the nightlife, bathhouses,clubs,cafes,restaurants, amongst many others, a LOT of houses are used as venues, no matter the type, once again, if you have no clue what you are talking about, please get informed a little before you talk nonsense.

Since i managed to get my private and fc house next door to each other, i cant upgrade because its abit too sweet of a setup to willingly give up. So im happily settled into my small. But i want to be able to buy more rooms ratherthn haing to create and level a alt for another room and im limited to like 8 rooms

Anyone who has a house is this game feels elite. If you own a house you know exactly what I am talking about. Look at all the salt day in and day out on this board alone. Not to mention discords and reddit lol.

I think the demand for prime smalls will skyrocket, the demand for mediums will fall off, and the demand for larges will stay the same if not slightly dip. The demand for smalls with bad views or inconvenient placement will still largely be the same; no one is going to drop 50mil (presumably?) upgrading an F tier small to a large interior except for the filthy rich side of the community who already own multiple accounts/houses.
