Can a system be created that allows players to place multiple copies of a furnishing they own instead of needing to own and store that number? Yes. Imagine the improvement to player inventory if we only needed to have one of every item we wanted to use then could place it into our housing as many times as we like up to the total item limit.

Things they would still have to work on: allowing players more flexibility in setting up guest permissions for their private instance. Players are constantly requesting ways to blacklist players from entering their housing while allowing anyone else to enter. Island Sanctuary went to the opposite extreme - only those included within specific social circles of the owner (friend, FC, party) could enter.

They also need to set up a search function for finding housing to visit. Estate tags are a good way to accomplish in a multi-lingual game. If they could also record Likes in the Message Book to a central database, that could become another way to search for housing to visit.

Hopefully all these little things will add up to a better housing system in the future for all players, not just those lucky enough to score a plot in the lottery,

That's part of the issue. Anyone with a big interest in housing doesn't want instanced housing. Instanced housing is a system other games already have. If I wanted instanced housing, I would go play something else. SE has an extremely unique housing situation. I haven't seen anything close since Aion and FFXIV made it even better. I would rather them completely abandon housing than spend time and resources on more instanced housing ideas. More wards are the single only option but stubborn SE absolutely refuses to go that route. We could have even avoided this trash lottery system if they just added wards, dynamically, until the large/medium demand was satiated. Their stance of "only until all the smalls are filled" is so out of touch with the community it is sickening.

That's what I've been advocating for since a few months, dynamic wards, people that care about housing dont want instanced, and housing shouldnt be catered to those people that dont care about it, that's like saying they should adapt ultimates for people that dont run ultimates, the math dont add up.

If yall want instanced, please play a game that has instanced housing and stop trying to ruin it for the rest of us.

Can you do us all a favor and not speak for other people when you have zero clue what you're talking about? Housing is one of the main reasons I play this game, and I couldn't care less whether my house is instanced or not. Also, I don't get this idea that instanced housing has to replace ward housing. Did Island Sanctuary replace anything?

There's no reason why this would have to be an either/or situation. Wards can remain for those who want ward houses. Players who would prefer the instanced housing could use that instead. It has the potential to open up more plots for those players who are only interested in the wards.

As for having a big interest in housing, I do and I would take RIFT Dimensions (which were fully instanced) over a ward house instantly if Dimensions were added to this game.

For me personally, it depends on the looks… they give me an LB-style plot with a mini waterfall next to it, and good sunrise/moonrise views? In a heartbeat!

But beyond that, it would free up ward space from those that either only have a house for FOMO reasons, those who only use one for extra storage and those who don’t want to be tied to a sub because of auto-demo.

That's just hoping for the best though, the waterfall thing that is. Also LB is a very specific area regarding sunset in particular so it'd be very difficult to even do, none of the plots that have the waterfall next to them have good sunset (sadly).

Regarding the rest of your post, logging in once a month is not a hard task, a lot of people keep their sub up anyway in ff.

And regarding auto demo same comment as above, instanced housing would have basically 0 positive for ward housing, i really do mean it when I say that if people want instanced housing there are enough games out there with it, FFXIV has unique housing and yall are trying to take that away from the game. Instanced housing simply has no place in FF, the devs also seem to agree considering the island was the perfect spot for it and they didn't do it.

I really think at a certain point people need to understand that the housing situation is exactly as SE wants it, that's why we aren't getting any new wards often, they want the scarcity and for people to feel like they achieved something when they finally got the large of their dream, because yes it is RNG, but when you finally do get it you don't care if it was RNG or not. The point is, housing is as SE envisions it, the only thing that might happen in the very long future is housing mirage which I haven't seen much info of but basically let's you remove the pillars and stuff from what I heard, once again I dont know much about it so I won't talk on that topic
