I don't think it's just large plots that have this many bids on. I'm seeing this trend with medium plots as well. There was 100+ bids on a medium last week and this week as well on multiple plots. Too much demand for so little availability. Whole housing thing will need to change eventually
Absolutely agree. There is a medium up currently aswell and it has:I don't think it's just large plots that have this many bids on. I'm seeing this trend with medium plots as well. I have said this so many times, once something becomes common, people dont care anymore, just like apartments, they are just unused and no one cares about them, if you gave everyone a large, people just wouldnt care anymore, but just like with lottery back then "lottery will fix housing, it will remove multiowners, bots and people selling and finally i'll be able to get a large !!" thats what people asked for, and what people got, now we have even more bids than before and less chances to get houses.
This community literally shouldnt be listened to, at least the ones that dont care about housing, they have no clue what they are talking about, if you give Shiro 60's instanced house to everyone, S60 becomes worthless, it'll be like having a small house, and it will get ignored after a while.
Also people are already lonely enough in the game, not everyone has millions of friends, lets not put people in dead instances with nobody around them and fake houses, if you want that, play a different game, FFXIV is based on ward housing, period.
I wasn't that invested in housing around the time and i didn't know it was change brought about on the forums.(i didn't even know forums were a thing at a time). Anyway the problem with housing isn't based on it's fair distribution and how people get the houses. It's the supply and demand problem. Not even the most sophisticated system in the world designed to distribute houses would be enough for everyone interested to be satisfied, if there is not enough houses for everyone. Instanced housing was meant to solve that problem and be a new subtype of housing, not a modification to wards housing. Besides what kind of argument is that "we asked for lottery so we have to deal with it" are we to be punished for asking for unfair and bad system to be changed? Are we supposed to just accept bad housing in otherwise great game just because one small solution didn't fix all the problems?
Island Sanctuary is it's own bag of problems one of them being that there is next to nothing you can do with friends or other people. It appears it was purposefully designed to be this way, to quote "your own personal paradise". So only allowing your friend list to access your island seemed to be deliberate choice. Now i am not here to say if it's good or bad decisions but coupled that with very hands off gameplay that was heavly time gated, that's what caused island sanctuary to be left behind by many people.
Then again the introduction of outdoor furnishings brought many people back and made island more enjoyable for many. Going back to the subject one thing coming with "package" of instanced housing would have to be some alternative way of accessing houses. Perhaps as a link in chat you can share or put in adventures plate that allows you to access that persons house?
That not mentioning the fact that venues are rather smaller part of how houses are used and many would prefer to decorate houses for their own sake and fun, not caring if others will see it or not.
In what world did people go back to the island because of outside furnitures ? People decorated it and then never went back to it again, whoa what a featThen again the introduction of outdoor furnishings brought many people back and made island more enjoyable for many
Someone doesnt know anything about the nightlife, bathhouses, clubs, cafes, restaurants, amongst many others, a LOT of houses are used as venues, no matter the type, once again, if you have no clue what you are talking about, please get informed a little before you talk nonsense. That not mentioning the fact that venues are rather smaller part of how houses are used and many would prefer to decorate houses for their own sake and fun, not caring if others will see it or not.

That will depend on SE. Those of us who have played other MMOs with top notch instanced housing know it doesn't have to be that way.
The interiors here already are instanced as well and serve to hold good sized crowds. No one seems to have a problem with mass inviting now. The ongoing complaint is "why won't blacklist keep people I don't want in my house out of it?" (which is something we've also seen solved by the instanced housing in other MMOs).
The possible sticking point for venues would be what happens to overflow when the instanced venue reaches capacity. Right now they congregate outside the house and the surrounding area of the ward. If the system gets set up similar to apartments (go to a main entrance and select the instance you want to enter), it would continue to work out well. I've pointed out in past threads that the original 3 housing districts have paths that lead away from the plots but dead end with no purpose. Those would be perfect for entrances to new instanced housing. Empyreum has a few spots scattered around that are similar - lots of attention to detail but no reason for players to go there unless they're exploring. There's a spot in Shiro could also be used for the same purpose and possibly others I haven't noticed because I've never spent that much time exploring around Shiro to look at detail.
If we're going to be fair, there is nothing to do with friends in current housing either. Somehow, that doesn't seem to bother most of the player base.
What Island Sanctuary suffers from is the small selection of outdoor furnishings we have, which offers very little in the way of seating and interesting lighting. We don't have any ability to create a home that suits our style, we're limited to the Cozy Cabin options.
There's also that annoying mechanical rodent problem in the Hideaway that we can't get rid of. Talk about a mood killer.
For some people though, that might actually be a plus, especially given how blacklisting and the friends lists work in this game! And I think the island also allows FC members and party members as well in its settings options. And given how Island Sanctuary has complaints about being isolated and away from everyone. Do players think Instanced Housing is gonna be different? Itll likely be friend-list restricted, so players interested in venus wont touch it. Most players wont touch it after it’s done due to its limited accessibility moreso isolating them from the rest of the community.
Some people will always prefer a ward house, whether it’s for the neighborhood aesthetic or venues, like you mentioned. But a lot of people just want a space of their own that they can decorate, inside and out, have their own gardens, hang out with their friends, etc. If those people get an instanced plot, that siphons off lotto competition for ward houses. To me, that’s a win-win.
Yes! lol If only we could’ve been able to customize the cabin and kick out the mammets! I absolutely love Cozy Cabin 4, but I’d like to pick my own furnishings, colors and move the mammets literally anywhere else! The cabin should’ve been customizable and set apart from all the workshops and granaries so it actually felt like a relaxing retreat! There’s just so much more they could’ve done with it, so I share in the disappointment, but I do still enjoy what’s there. I’ve been decorating my outdoor space there for the different holidays and events just like I do my ward house. What Island Sanctuary suffers from is the small selection of outdoor furnishings we have, which offers very little in the way of seating and interesting lighting. That’s pretty typical lately… my hubby is bidding on his Empy large dream plot and it’s up to 123. There’s also a large in Lav around 116. Lots of mediums this round, and they’re all about in the 30s, except the LB one at 62. Bids looked a little lower last round, probably due to the holiday, but they’re picking up again. As always, wishing you luck!![]()
So you admit you only care about housing due to the prestige it gives? Because I don't see any other reason why you would not understand that people can decorate houses for their own sake and can enjoy them for their own sake.I have said this so many times, once something becomes common, people dont care anymore, just like apartments, they are just unused and no one cares about them, if you gave everyone a large, people just wouldnt care anymore, but just like with lottery back then "lottery will fix housing, it will remove multiowners, bots and people selling and finally i'll be able to get a large !!" thats what people asked for, and what people got, now we have even more bids than before and less chances to get houses.

The reason why apartments aren’t that popular(or fixed all problems since from what I have seen there are plenty of apartments) is because they are the smallest possible room with no outdoor space and people naturally want more.
Give them the ability to reach the largest possible layout in an instance and they will be satisfied.
Just like now when people are alone in the wards due to others playing at different times and with different lifestyles? I have been around my FC ward and i can count on one hand times i met some of my “neighbors”
I cannot say with certainty, but going with the internet rule of 1%: 1 % of people make content (create venues), 9% contribute (join venues) and the rest lurks around. No matter how you twist those numbers, the amount of creators cannot be that big. Maybe the situation in american servers is different, cannot say for certain. Besides as we said many times, we do not want deletion of ward housesSomeone doesnt know anything about the nightlife, bathhouses, clubs, cafes, restaurants, amongst many others, a LOT of houses are used as venues, no matter the type, once again, if you have no clue what you are talking about, please get informed a little before you talk nonsense.
