That content is still there. It was never lost.
Here's an interesting question: was Bozja/Zadnor created solely as a home for the relic grind, or was the relic grind attached to Bozja/Zadnor in an attempt to get more players to try the exploratory zone that was being added to the game regardless?
The answer to that question would not change what Bozja as a whole was: a hotspot of content that gave a player many reasons to come back after completing its story. You can criticize it (it's far from what I would call perfect, the lack of futureproofing for things like CLL or Delubrum definitely hurt engagement and made it difficult for new players to complete it. I certainly didn't like how Bozja handled relics either.) or even dislike it, but nothing introduced in EW so far has been able to compare to its standard.
The fact that it has so much content packed into it despite being made at the height of the pandemic speaks volumes of what the dev team is capable of, which is why things like V/C dungeons, Island Sanctuary and Orthos are even more disappointing to me.
True but lets be real. It was the ONLY lasting content in the entirety of Shallowbringers. I'll admit that yes, it had a lot but that was just it. And guess what? People still complained anyway.
While with EW at the very friggin least, they're adding some new stuff that we havent had in this game before. It just turns out that they're investments for the long run. I'd hold my tongue till we give it a couple of years before we can look back and properly review whether it was worth it or not (in regard to IS and Variant/Criterion).
If not, then I 100% give you permission to slap my face and brag and nag with a huge fat "I told you so". Because thats honestly the attitude you usually seem to be doing anyway.
It's also really hard to go back now and complete some of it alone.True but lets be real. It was the ONLY lasting content in the entirety of Shallowbringers. I'll admit that yes, it had a lot but that was just it. And guess what? People still complained anyway.

Prolly depends on the DA or server you're on. I know on my end at Crystal I still see a few people running around to do the content. Although its almost always progression players. I do know that Savage DA is pretty much dead unless you go to a specific discord to do it.
But this is what I meant with these exploratory zones. They arent future proof and you heavily have to rely on a discord to being able to complete its endgame content. This is why I say Eureka and Bozja were failures despite its few good aspects and I still remember the days where people just hated doing Bozja and doing the Relic chain. Nobody ever at the time praised for the content so its highly amusing people here starting to fondly look back at it with those shiny rose-tinted glasses.
Yeah, as anticlimactic as this relic is, depending on how the future patches handle the rest of it. This could be the most future proof ready relic we have had yet.Prolly depends on the DA or server you're on. I know on my end at Crystal I still see a few people running around to do the content. The HW's relic was pretty future proof. In fact prior to EW's relic it was the most easiest chain to complete since the activities required for doing it was relatively simple and not bound by anything major. It also had better use of tomestone spending where you bought materials to progress on the grind such as allocating stats and and not as braindead as a direct purchase.
It still was a grind and it still sucked (as most grinds are) but it was the best one as every step had something different to do that was easy to manage. I was initially excited when I heard the news for EW's relic being quest based and many people thought this meant they were going back to the HW style of grind but yeah...haha we all know how this is turning out.
If relics were linked to IS/EO/Variant dungeon, then they would have solid future proofing too, since you can do all of these solo.
Thinking about it, they are even past proof, since you can just save 1500 tomes before patch, and get them 5 minutes after a release.
So they're past proof, future proof, yet not an ounce of present proofing.
