Mandaville Weapon progression in 6.45 will most likely remain the same
In the interview with YoshiP on 6.4 from GameWatch/Famitsu/4Gamer/DengekiOnline:

Q: Mandaville Weapon has progressed in the form of consuming Allagan tomestones and exchanging necessary items in both stages so far, but will patch 6.45 follow the same flow? Or will it be a new process?

Yoshi: I don't really want to say "This is what needs to be collected" before the implementation, so let me refrain from talking about it (laughs). However, in terms of the flow, the intention this time is for players to be able to upgrade (the weapon) while playing various contents at the same time, so please be assured that there will be no major changes.

Well. So much for "6.45's relic step will be the real grind!" congrats to those who'd rather farm tomestones instead of having actual relic content like Delubrum Reginae or Exploratory Zones that gave other rewards to grind for and things to do.

It's clear to me that those of us who wanted a more involved process are not simply not being listened to, but actively ignored.

Enjoy your Manderville Relics - if they can even be called relics at this point.

Indeed. Well it's good that me and everyone else who saw where this was going are going to be validated in our observations soon enough. But I would have liked for this game to actually provide stuff to do and - grind for - since that's what the relic was supposed to be. Not a free handout.

I guess this new system is more convenient for the people who call themselves role players to get a free weapon and then go back to their venues.

While I wish they would make the steps actually a grind other than gather tomestones, it is kind of on the vocal minority of players shoulders that this is happening.

Do FATEs to get components? People complain.
Have a special zone to upgrade weapons in? People complain(with both Bozja and Eureka)
Have any RNG related to the weapons? People complain.

They ended up taking the easiest way out from getting complaints, and they get complaints.

I really don't get why they didn't just bundle relic weapons in with variant dungeons or something.

This is actually depressing news. It baffles me how they cant just have you do variant or criterion dungeons for a relic step which that would help keep that content somewhat relevant.

I think we all knew this was coming. Perhaps things will improve once FFXVI's out, but I have a sinking feeling the A-team won't be transferred back afterward.

They don’t want people playing it. I’m pretty sure they never wanted to make it in the first place and was made as a sort of “shut up already” to people who wanted something new.
