If it's our fault that they only listen to negative feedback, and don't actually provide full polls for their content, then I think that's a problem with Square Enix and CBU:III.

It shouldn't be my fault that I don't constantly tell them what they do correct. They'd need to have better ways to pull engagement and happiness. It's 2023, media companies know how to pull that information from their base by now. If Square doesn't, then that's a huge problem.

Edit: I really wish they would just have actual polls on the forum, AND send everyone content polls. They need to be way more engaged with their community. :/

To chime in on that. If they tied like some reward to it. People will do it. You be surprise on how many people would do it.

For the topic. I was playing it just like you and other player as well. I created this account back in mid to end hw? Cant remember. The main reason is because of the feed back part. heck i remember when people turn the troll threads into cooking recipes. As person the relic back in aar to hw. I enjoyed them because it kept the world alive dungeons where queuing people helping one another in the steps. Also loved the story that went with and it continued. Like having a weapon with a soul that learns with you? that was amazing in my book.

However when they added the new steps it kinda killed it well for me anyway. I just didnt do it. I did not like the thought of me in a instance area all the time fate grinding (think that what killed my love for them) just to progress. And how the player base is and you should know. if you not doing it when it current or not doing it when the next expansion comes out because want to level alt jobs then its dead to a point.

You say "I feel like ... SE definitely listen to the community ... but the way we're doing it is purely from a "negative reinforcement" side" and it has been that way for a bit. Take in consideration with the raid tier where people had to switch jobs to clear it. Look how fast they changed it and the apology letter

And this exactly what cause the problem. This is like hearing young people saying "I don't need to vote, any decent politician should know what is the right thing to do!". Well, they should ... in an ideal world. Are we living in an ideal world though? No, we're living in a real world where you can not assume and simply entitle to the "right" thing without some extra effort put in to it. And yes, emphasize the word "extra", meaning you should put in those effort even if you think you shouldn't have to. Assuming other will somehow know what you want without you having to tell them what you want is a sure fine way to NOT getting what you want at the end, which is the point of this thread.

And before you think I'm taking a shot at you, know that just like I mentioned at the end of the OP: every accusations I may level in this thread is also one I level at myself

I don't see how this is relevant. Regardless of you think it's sufficient or not, both side have access to the same tools no matter how limited that is. The negative simple spend a lot more effort in making sure their voices are heard when the positive often just take it for granted. Assuming that trend continue, creating more tool will NOT balance out the scale, it will just make the result even more lopsided.

I wish the FFXIV development team would get feedback in someway from people who are actually in game playing, not living on social media or forums. I feel like they would get vastly different results and opinions.
